The ~bonus~ set is now live. Patches and md5 information can be found on the first post. Some important information to note regarding the Aerith only challenges can be found in this pastebin to avoid spoilers.

BenGhazi, now that there is a new Bonus set for Final Fantasy VII it may be a good opportunity to transfer some cheevos for it.

2 cheevos of the set caught my attention: the Great Escape and the Low Level one. I really believe their impact on the gameplay really is fit to the bonus set.

I also think that some cheevos should award more points, like the weapons ones. I'll take a look at the sheet you provided to better access this.

I really would have liked to give some insights on this project but unfortunately I was too busy with SotN XD.

Could we add support for the "beacause" retranslation project patches? I would like to provide the checksums, but I'm having trouble finding any information regarding the proper way to do so with PSX titles.

Wondering about A Pimp's Destiny A Pimp's Destiny (2). It seems to share its badge with Reminiscence ~ The Bitter Taste of Truth Reminiscence ~ The Bitter Taste of Truth (5), and only one person has managed to get it early on, apparently at a point in the game where the only thing I can think of is the info you can get from helping a certain npc. If that should be the trigger, then it's not functioning. Otherwise giving it a proper badge of it's own with maybe a small hint would be nice to have.

When we were discussing it deividokop said that you're supposed to get it midway through disc 2 but it's possible that it can be gotten after beating Reno. I'll look into it a little more and update the badge, I must have overlooked that one.

Just personal opinion: I feel that the emerald and ruby weapon achievements should have some sort of restrictions in place ie: no kotr, mime or underwater materia. I would say w-item too but i dont know how you would stop this as you could just duplicate hero drinks and mega-elixirs outside the battle. They are too easy once u have these materia. Just to put it in perspective im no pro and i managed to kill emerald in the time limit, at level 60, with double growth equipment, and did not need final attack phoenix.

Ruby seems far harder, i cant really find anything outside of summons that causes him damage without drastically over leveling or source farming. Quadra magic + bahamut? With kotr + mime hes a cake walk.

Also I was surprised there was no achievement for breeding a gold chocobo.

I'm inclined to agree with TomuCat on the Emerald and Ruby weapon cheevos, they kind of feel pointless without some restrictions, especially Emerald.
Around the World Around the World (10) already essentially rewards you for just beating them anyway.

@BenGhazi I managed to verify that A Pimp's Destiny A Pimp's Destiny (2) indeed should be triggered by what I suspected, and I can't get it to trigger if done on disc 1 (tried on two different downloaded saves in addition to two separate playthroughs of my own), only on disc 2. I submitted a ticket for it.

about ~Bonus~ set:
1)what is "(Average: 29)" - average betwin 3 character in active party rounded down? so this can be 10 + 9 + 70?
2)what is "or using non-command materia"? I mean in 2 bosses I have green magic materias on my hero and I just can't use it to get cheevo? But can I equip materia (paired added effect or elemental or maybe counter) for other cheevos?

It's the average level of the entire party based on an EXP cap. The levels themselves are more of a guideline to let you know if you're in the right ballpark. For example Carry Armor you should be around level 22 so something like: Cloud 21, Barret 20, Tifa 20, Red XIII 22, Cait Sith 22, Cid 24, and Yuffie 22 would work.

If you're following the guide for this challenge you don't need to worry as the EXP caps I used are based off that guide, this is more for anyone crazy enough to go in with their own strategy since I made it flexible enough to accommodate those people.

In those 2 battles as long as you don't use magic with Cloud or Red XIII you'll be fine every other battle you can't have any other materia type equipped period.

Request : changing the achievement : "Eye of the tiger : Defeat the Red Spaceman in 3D Battler." into Defeat the Afro guy in 3D Battler.

Pure brainless mini-game (pure rng not taking in account what button you press). Beating the Afro guy will take 33 games in average, which is ok. Beating the red spaceman takes 3700 games (740000 total gil spent)

Definitely part of the "unwelcome achievement's design concepts. number 8" : Require excessive repetitive grinding, such as reaching level 99 in an RPG, for no meaningful purpose (maybe acceptable in Bonus Sets).

Sorry to be "that guy", please don't be upset, I surely appreciate dev's hard work, but I think the set would be more clean with that change.

I'm wouldn't mind to hear other people opinions on that

The bolded part is the key takeaway here, the game offers an ingame reward for beating the Red Spaceman. You can read more about it here

Yeah I guess you get 300gp if you can beat the red spaceman, if you can call that meaninful (hint, it's not. especially considering the massive amount of time required).

I did a little experiment, in 1 hour of mini game, I had spent 7800 gils, so : 740000/7800 = 94.87

So yeah, If my math is not wrong, we would need to spend 95 hours (in average, so possibly more) to get this, and I think I would not be the only one to think the 300 gp reward would not be considered meaningful at all (You would be at the gp limit most surely so that wouldn't even matter).

Looks like a bonus set achievement to be honest, IF you like to play FF7 to do the same brainless minigame for 4 days straight.

Again, I don't want to be an annoyance, but this game doesn't deserve this (any game doesn't)

I like those odds, 0.0003% according to that link you provided.

Wasn't the treasure chest minigame in OOT demoted for being somewhere around a 3% chance?

I have to agree with Braek as well, I've tracked myself spending a bit above 7 hours combined now on this (longest straight attempt was about 3 hours), and in all that time I've managed to beat the Afro guy exactly once. Needless to say on that one time I did not get lucky enough to beat the Spaceman. Really not interested in spending any more of my life on this, it's faster and easier to get gp from other sources. It was more fun and rewarding to pointlessly grind every character to max stats in Chrono Trigger. xD
