Collect each item once to unlock the following Achievements.


Restore Ryu's Health.
Can be found in: 2-2, 3-1, 4-2, 4-3, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 6-2, 6-3 (2x).


Get a Extra Life.
Can be found in: 4-1, 4-2.



Reach the end of each Stage in a certain time and with specific requirements. The game has unlimited continues so you can always retry those until you earned them all.
The screenshots below show the exact position in-game where the Achievements will be unlocked if you meet all the requirements.

The Timer is Toolkit based, this mean when you have to reach the end in 30 seconds then its 120 seconds in-game time. The later Stages have a variable Timer based on the players performance, you lose time when taking damage and gain extra time for getting 1000 (1K) Scores through either collecting Bonus Score Bags and killing enemies. Restore has many effects, it either stops the damage counter completely or just adds few more health points to the Challenge. Time Freeze is optional and stops the Timer by 5 seconds, this gets you +5 additional seconds to finish the Challenge.

Sub-Weapons are: Throwing Star, Windmill Star, Flame Shot and Slash Jump.



Reach the End in 50 seconds, 2000 Score, Break all Sub-Weapons, 0 kills. [+5 sec on Freeze]


Stage 1-1 requirements:
° 50 (100 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 2000 Score through collecting Bags
° Break all Sub-Weapons
° Without Score increase through killing or destroying objects (Knives)
Optional: +5 (55) seconds when collecting a Time Freeze



Reach the End in 50 seconds, 7x 1000 Score, Slash Jump.


Stage 2-1 requirements:
° 50 (100 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 7x 1000 Score increase (collect Bonus Score Bags + Kills)
° Have Slash Jump



Reach the End in 55 seconds, 4x 1000 Score, Flame Shot, less than 3 damage (5 on Restore).


Stage 2-2 requirements:
° 55 (95 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 4x 1000 Score increase (collect Bonus Score Bags + Kills)
° Have Flame Shot
° Without taking damage 3 times (5 on collecting Restore)

Info: +2 (5) health on Restore will only work if you haven't taken damage 3 times.

Stage 3-2 requirements:
° 50 (100 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 5x 1000 Score increase (collect Bonus Score Bags + Kills)
° Break Flame Shot
° Have Windmill Star
° Kill 10 enemies
° Without using Sub-Weapons 3 times.



Reach the End in 40 seconds, 3x 1000 Score, Extra Life, Break Fire Wheel, No Fire Wheel.


Stage 4-1 requirements:
° 40 (110 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 3x 1000 Score increase (collect Bonus Score Bags + Kills)
° Collect the Extra Life.
° Break Fire Wheel.
° Do not pick up the the Fire Wheel.



Reach the End in 40 seconds, 3x 1000 Score, Extra Life, less than 3 damage (Stop on Restore). [+5 sec on Freeze]


Stage 4-2 requirements:
° 40 (110 in-game) seconds to reach the End
° 3x 1000 Score increase (collect Bonus Score Bags + Kills)
° Collect the Extra Life.

@: I wasn't sure to add it since these super simple cheevos like selecting a Character or pressing Start ain't welcomed according to the recent rules from #developer-news but i can do it, its basically same as , and .

@: I don't plan on including them because the reattempt requires to play through the entire Stage again, it is especially annoying for the last three bosses because you get send back to 6-1 if you die (boss is in 6-4) to get another chance and i personally think damageless Bosses (unless you respawn right next to) ain't fun and encourage cheating, however i can do it for the other bosses as there are methods to beat them without taking damage.

This version of Ninja Gaiden has some glitches fixed, for example the instant kill Slash doesn't work anymore or the mid-air rapid sword glitch doesn't work either from what i've seen. Some Stages also have minor fixes and are more balanced than NES version.

I also don't want to make the PCE set to similar to the NES version as its basically the same game just updated. I may do something else for the last three bosses.

Oh, I've done them on the NES version already, so it's no massive loss, it just felt like a bit of a given. None of the bosses are THAT super difficult.

Not sure what you mean by "the instant kill Slash doesn't work anymore", do you mean you can no longer one-hit-kill Malth with the spin slash? If so, that makes no damage clearing him practically impossible.

I've updated the cheevo list above, its complete now but some cheevos will be adjusted/balanced, the Ken's Challenges will require a lot of testing so they don't go into Bonus Set category, the good thing is you have unlimited continues in this version and always restart in the current Stage, otherwise i wouldn't include those.

@: Malth is more balanced in this version from what i can tell (don't take this as a fact), i can't remember the NES version 100% but in this you can dodge his lightning bolts perfectly by jumping on the right stone.

Regards Malth, there will be two cheevos for him:

Bloody Malth (Act V)
Defeat Bloody Malth by staying on the right without touching the Pentagram.
This will require the player to play by a certain pattern, it makes the fight more interesting than it actually is without it.

Like A Shadow III
Defeat Bloody Malth without taking damage.
This will also require to dodge his bolts by jumping on the stone.

The set is almost done, just needs some tweaks here and there, it will be the most challenging Set i've done so far, making a easy set would be a insult to this Game as the difficulty is what makes it so good (high risk - high reward), so expect some good challenges (not impossible).

Updated the One Ninja Army by allowing to use Restore in a Act without reseting the next Acts, and Art of Scoring re-balance and added some videos to the Joe's Challenges.

If you have some feedback or re-balance suggestions then please let me know.

I've tweaked some Achievements and re-balanced the Art of Scoring, i usually go by the logic when i can earn it then any experienced player can. Everything should work correctly now and i will keep updating the Guide in the next days/weeks.

I also let one Achievement locked in my Profile so someone else can be the first to Master this set. Please give feedback and report if something still doesn't work correctly.
