For those who play on PC, with nvidia GPU, there is a great option called nvidia shadowplay. Main feature you’ll need, is instant replay, meaning that your PC is continiusly recording your screen, while keeping on hard drive only 2 last minutes. So If you noticed that you completed achievement requirements and for some reason it did not pop up, you have enought time to press a hotkey to save your last 2 minutes of gameplay, which will be used as proof of completeion. Yet, such feature will cost 1-3% of CPU usage.

Video with timestamps, explain which cheevo busted and for hard/soft. Make a ticket about said broken cheevo, include ticket to said unlock.

That about it or did I miss anything? May I suggest an automated form submission that points towards all this, ain't nobody gonna remember all of this when stuff actually happens. I find it impossible to navigate this site and follow everything as is. This forum topic is just gonna be buried within the week to never be found again anyway. That's my biggest issue with RA, I can't find anything ever, im sure staff whom came up with the system will know how to navigate, but from the moment I made this account, it's been super unfriendly knowing anything about anything whenever I have an issue that needs to be adressed.

"If you have x issue, go to A, F or Y about it, but def not C, H or P". That's basically your system now, and it's infuriating. Ya'll need to streamline THAT as opposed to just shoving it all on us.

We will TRY best we can do submit according to your likings, but if you mean to say this is a BIG problem STILL on a regular basis, then ya there might be a reason for that... Cause and effect?

It doesn't bother me to replay the game again. As most older games are short and sweet. As of platforms past the Wii U that have 80+ hour games to beat. It isn't worth it if a later achievement didn't pop. I'm thinking of all those open world games with so much to do.

I'm more retro In games. The fact I have rare replay on Xbox just proves how valuable older titles are. Yet most of them never saw a release plast the main platform it released for. In general that's why I'm worried for this platform in the future. Even if it isn't there yet. That's the point of this discussion. To take care of it now before things get more complicated. Just saying the obvious.

There is no question that the current methods of requesting unlocks on the site are not ideal. As one of the primary people checking unlock requests (mostly on Discord) I'm well aware of the limitations of the current site method and that it's not only difficult for us to work through but also not a good experience for the players either.

We've had past discussions about needing a better system implemented on the site for handling these but as Spory mentioned, everyone working on RA is a volunteer and they all have their own priorities and workloads already. Also anyone is free to try and create a system themselves as RAWeb is open source and open to new users helping out.

My ideal vision of the system would be a manual unlock queue accessible by any users with the unlock role to review requests to approve/deny/comment on. On the requester side they would be able to see their requests along with their status and if any comments are placed requesting further information/etc. However until that happens the best thing we can do is have users properly submit their requests.

If a developer is inactive, the ticket will be handled an active developer instead, and it might take longer. But that shouldn't affect manual unlocks.

That is correct and a common misconception we see a lot. Just because a developer is not active anymore does not mean that tickets are useless or that a manual unlock request will be denied. We regularly have ticket cleanup events for our active developers to go and fix inactive developer achievements and the more tickets an individual set or achievement have the more visibility it gives us to valid issues including the QATeam who monitor highly ticketed sets.

As sets are also the work of volunteers they are also going to have issues but quality tickets including good information on steps, saves, savestates or videos really do help a lot when trying to reproduce the issues to fix them and give future players a better experience. While developers are the ones doing the actual logic fixes we greatly appreciate the help from players who help to work towards the resolutions of the issues.

As a player one really helpful thing you can do if you see a set has some open tickets you can note down which ones seem to have issues and create a savestate (you can create these still in Hardcore mode) before the start of the achievement and if possible slightly before it should trigger and that is usually all that is needed to figure out a problem.

Guys, to be fair, with enough proof I think it's best to request a Manuel unlock through discord. It's easier. It may take up to a few days or weeks, but I've never had a request declined. Usually you'll get a reaction emoji on your post letting you know that the mods have reviewed your request.

Just have patience surely the mods have lives too right?

Keep up the hard work!

@KuSa the Sonic CD issue could be related to the emulator in RetroArch. I've had problems with pictodrive core crashing the game at startup just recently. So that could very well be your issue as well. It depends on what you're using though.
