One of my favorite games of all time, I would love to see achievements for this

Great list so far adding some name suggestions

Purple Star Piece (5) - Wish Fulfilled. Its found in an area filled with wishes
Indigo Star Piece (5) - Call Me Captain Mario. This one if i recall is for finishing the sea/sunken ship/pirate town chapter
Red Star Piece (5) - Mighty Morphin. This is the star you grab and then is promptly stolen from you right? then you have to fight the mighty morphin power axem rangers
Yellow Star Piece (5) - Closing Time, you get this for beating smithy and he worked in a factory of evil weapons?
Whomp Grate Guy and Knife Guy (5) - "Do I amuse you?" quoye from Goodfellas about clowns, these guy are certainly clowns

Actually, I think they're just called the Axem Rangers.

They are just was referencing the joke :)

At any rate, I've had random boss achievements unlocking as I'm playing through the game. I've gotten Croco 2nd time, Optional Booster, and Knife Guy and Grate Guy, and I just made it to Rose Town.

first, i wanna say thank you for adding this one! here's what i came across:


all activated while fighting shysters; i'm now at rose town, like rhomega.

I agree with Sting's name suggestions to the star piece achievements.

Here's my name suggestions:
Blue Star Piece (5) - What's This Blue Pointy Thing? (at this point in the game the player has no idea what a star piece is)
Green Star Piece (5) - Solve the Forest Maze
Orange Star Piece (5) - Liberate the Mines

Some achievements I would like to see added (credit to Sting and Seijin for some of these suggestions):
I, Bellhop
Midas's Gold
I Wanna Be the Boshi
Blink and Miss It
Hidden Treasure Hunter
Sheep Sheep Sheep
A Real Troopa
A Link to the Metroid (in my opinion there should be separate achievements for finding Link and Samus)

Frog Coin Shopping Spree - purchase all the items from Frogfucius's pupil in Seaside Town
Please Gamble Responsibly - discover Grate Guy's Casino

defeat culex (not sure what to call this one)

Thanks for reporting those. I see what I did wrong with those boss achievements activating, I fixed those.
