I never played this game before now, but now it has leaderboards it lacked.

Here they are
1. High score - Submits on game victory
2. High score - Submits on game victory or Game Over

If you'll read below you'll understand why this 1st leaderboard deserves special distinction, but basically it's because you can more easily farm endlessly without ever trying to trigger a Game Victory, so it's a more honorable score, but they are both worth recording.

Now some commentary and a little guide. This game is not great, but it might be nostalgia for some or meditative, or you want site points, or you're crazy, or you want a high score. Anyway, here you are.

Firstly Here's a map of the game courtesy of gamefaqs

Your goal is to collect 100 parts and then get to the end of stage 30 and Defeat the boss and End base. Each time you go to a stage you get a chance to pick up one part. Yes only one per stage. So at the minimum you're going to be playing 100 stages looping through the game multiple times.

Which route you take really doesn't matter as far as I know, and this set currently lacks anything interesting like taking all the warps or visiting each route.

If you get hit by an enemy once or crash you'll lose a life. You only start with three and if you get a lot of points you'll occasionally get extra one, it's not so easy.

Watch out! The game is a huge troll. You fight boss at the end of stage 30 whether you have the 100 parts or not. (If you don't have 100 parts regardless of killing the boss or not you will loop to stage 1) Each time you get to the boss, if you kill it and don't have 100 parts there are these blue butterflies that you can kill for a huge point bonus. If you kill them, the screen will overlay BONUS. Here's where the trolling comes in. Kill these and you will lose a bunch of parts each time, like somewhere between 2 and 5 each time (I'm not sure how many).

If you are good enough to not run out of lives and survive this marathon which will take at least a few hours you can beat the boss at stage 30, destroy this base, get a victory screen; drum-roll... roll credits.
