What is The Unwanted?
The Unwanted is an ongoing event that revolves around the underplayed sets on RetroAchievements. Each month of the event starts on the 15th and players/devs can earn tokens by beating the games, mastering them, reporting issues, fixing issues, doing revisions, making new badges, and other tasks. Get enough tokens and you will qualify for an achievement to go toward a badge. The best part? You can take time off from the event if you want. You could get three achievements unlocked, take a few months off, and then pick up where you left off.

- As always, don't be a dick. 

- Each month begins and ends on the 15th. 

- You can start at any time and can skip months if you want to!!!

- When a month ends, the main game selection will be changed and will become ineligible for players. However, if you are an achievement developer, you can still resolve tickets, revise, add new badges, etc. for any of the previous months' games.

- There is no limit on the amount of tokens that can be earned per task. 

- Bleed over can occur. If you qualify for silver and end up getting six more silver tokens, you can trade those extra silvers for one gold token.

- Some tasks can contribute to multiple objectives and are marked with 📚  -Examples: Beating two games will earn the player three bronze tokens—one for each game beaten, and one for beating two games. Mastering a game for a silver token will also earn the player a bronze token for beating it. Creating five tickets for a silver token will also award a bronze token for each ticket submitted.

- Previously beaten/mastered games will contribute towards cumulative goals during the event. 

- TOKENS WILL NOW CARRY OVER BETWEEN MONTHS FOR UNQUALIFIED TIERS. Example: Ending with 7 bronze will start the following month with 7 bronze. Ending with 12 bronze will NOT carry over additional tokens. 

- All achievements must be earned in Hardcore.

- The BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD tiers all have tasks assigned to them and each task will grant a token. 
🕹️: Tasks that can be done by anyone.
🛠️: Tasks that can only be done by devs. Junior devs will need code reviewer approval.
🕹️🛠️: Tasks that can be done by anyone, but will require a dev to sponsor a vote and/or commit changes.

- The PLATINUM tier has a separate list and focuses on games previously ignored in The Unwanted as well as games that have never been mastered, despite the player count. These games will not contribute towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold tasks.

🕹️Master a game in the Platinum tier list. Note that each mastery is good for one unlock towards the Platinum badge!

- In number of tokens you must obtain to qualify for a tier are as followed:
Bronze: 9
Silver: 6
Gold: 3
Platinum: 2

- When you qualify in a tier, at the end of the month you will get an achievement manually unlocked for that tier. Once you have qualified in that tier twelve times, you will be awarded the mastery badge. You are not required to qualify twelve months in a row. So if you have three achievements unlocked in a tier, you could take a whole year off, do a couple more, take another break, then do the rest. You need twelve total per tier.

- Yes, you can qualify for a higher tier without qualifying for a lower tier. It happens.

- For Discord users: qualifying in the silver or gold tier will grant you the unwanted role for the rest of that month. You'll be able to stay more up-to-date, take part in occasional voting, and have a sexy red name.

- The DevCoC still applies and has priority over The Unwanted! Before making changes to achievements, make sure you have permission from a set's developer if they are active. Revision guidelines still apply.

📌 These are separate from the monthly batch of games, but still fall within the spirit of the competition due to the sets having inactive devs or aspect(s) of the entry being neglected. 

📌 PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU DON'T GET TOKENS FOR BEATING/MASTERING THESE, ONLY FOR SUPPLYING RELEVANT SAVE DATA AND FIXES!

📌 Most of these games will not leave the bonus game list until the tickets are taken care of! Use that to your advantage! 

📌 If at least 50 tickets for bonus games are resolved in a month, there will be a "refill" which replaces the games cleared of tickets with other games. 

📌 Saves provided MUST be compatible with RALibretro!

📌 Obvious low-effort work will not be eligible for the box art task. Try to make these look as legit as you can. Game must have an achievement set. Age ratings such as ESRB are not necessary. Here's an example

This looks like great fun! maybe it is in there and I just didnt understand but do the tokens happen automatically or do i need to report them somehow?

To participate you just have to head over to whatever the current month's topic is, Month 35 5/15 - 6/15, and make a new post whenever you complete a task(s).

The team that runs the event periodically reads through it and calculates/tracks your progress for you on this spreadsheet.
