Wow really? I really would like to be up-to-date about the development! Where is this being discussed?

I really wanted a achievement set for my favorite game, I even made a sheet with some ideas to help create!

I have a Portuguese translation project that is available for DC/GC/PC here , the disc only changes text strings and FMV files (anything related to translation) but It doesn't change any code or ID stuff, I wonder if it would have any trouble recognizing the .chd in Retroachievements.

Either way, when it gets released I will test using it so it's not a big deal I guess.

Looking over Zpeligo's overview, I noticed a couple of oversights:

1. Chao Explorer. These, I assume, track if you've reached the Chao Garden with each character. While useful, that's nowhere near the limit of Chao box discovery. EVERY level (barring the last one I believe) has THREE boxes, and only the FIRST from ONE level for each character is needed for Garden Access. There really should be cheevs for collecting all three boxes in a level for each level.

2. A Ranks can be earned in one of two ways in this game: Score (which most people will do), or finishing while holding the maximum number of rings in the level. Sadly, the second method isn't universal, as some levels have rings placed in impossible areas, but if the game recognizes the feat, then clearly some cheevs need to be made to do the same. Even the levels that can't get A Ranks that way should have them, just with the Ring total adjusted to be accurate.
I should mention that the car levels do NOT have this alternate method as an option, so it isn't really necessary there.

Chao explorer is by character with all 3 boxes per stage. We did it that way to avoid achievement spam, thought it would be excessive to have one for every stage.

As for the A ranks, I did not know that you could get it by grabbing every ring, that's pretty cool. That being said, as much fun as the challenge sounds, I don't know if I like the idea of requiring getting an A rank twice on most stages. Seems a bit repetitive and would probably be frustrating more than anything for some stages. But maybe we'll throw in an extra achievement for one of them just for fun.

If it were to add the ~Perfect!~ ring challenge, it would be good to either limit to 3 achievements (requiring to beat any level the player wishes for each game styles) or 6 achievements (one for each character). I think I put that in the spreadsheet I linked but just in case...

In my opinion, having 3 achievements is good enough, at first I thought it could be 6 for each character to fit with Chao Explorer, but it seems most Shadow levels cannot be completed.

From what I researched, it seems the following stages are impossible to be beaten.

-Radical Highway
-White Jungle
-Sky Rail

-Wild Canyon
-Pumpkin Hill
-Mad Space

-Sand Ocean
-Hidden Base

-Cannon's Core
-Green Hill
(In GC there are even more due to Big rings)

What bothers me is that apparently Shadow's only level that can be beaten is Final Chase, I have to test to see how difficult it is.

Since many stages have unobtainable rings, you could ignore what the game says is worth an A-Rank by just going off maximum number of rings the player can get without exploits; "Get all 258 possible rings in this stage!".

Based on my experimenting, obtaining all rings will be part of a bonus set assuming one gets made. I think that would be the most appropriate way to handle that.

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with this and how to fix it? It happens on both the core/RetroArch from the release date and the newest version of each downloaded 5 minutes ago.

Edit: Okay, so displaying VMU breaks this game, good to know. If you're experiencing that issue disable VMU display to fix it.

A fun challenge would be finding all animals in each stage. Also maybe one for creating a chaos chao. Wouldn't mind way more cheevos even a bonus set because this is my favorite game.
