I'd like to reserve this game.

I feel I may have hit a technical roadblock. Microphone support is currently really bad, and in my testing, it makes the Spirit Flute all but unusable in long bursts. Some songs may be playable, but I can only imagine that the duet at the end of the game prior to the Malladus battle would be pretty much impossible without a consistently-working mic.

Work on this may have to be halted until this is remedied, unfortunately.

Scratch that last post. It seems we can still get this to work with the D-pad patch. I shall resume development with this patch and see how it works out, seeing if there are any game-breaking issues in the interim.

Been a few weeks, but I'm still working on the set! Steady progress is still being made. I'm actually rather surprised how much content is in the game, so it will still likely be some time until I'm done. I hope the wait is worth it for y'all!

Hello, I have a question. This d-pad patch can be applied and played by desmume or melonds? I thought it could only be played on the DS only.
Thanks for your time creating this set!

It's perfectly playable for me on DeSmuMe so far! I'm close to the end of the game, and I've not encountered gamebreaking issues so far.

A patch file (not the ROM, for obvious reasons) will be provided once the set is complete.

The achievement set has gone live! However, as you may have noticed on the game board (or previously in this thread), I strongly recommend that you play the game with the D-pad patch (only US tested). The reason for this is because DesMuMe's microphone support is truly abysmal, and unfortunately, you need to use the microphone in this game in a few parts. The patch gets around the issue by mapping Spirit Flute input to the A button, so for those parts, it's more than serviceable.

You'll still need to use the vanilla microphone for the fortuneteller in Papuchia Village, but in my experience, it's not too hard to cheese it with that by pressing L3. So keep that in mind when you're aiming to get all the Force Gems.

Click here to download the patch. You can then use Flips to apply the patch to a vanilla Spirit Tracks ROM file. Note that the ROM file itself will not be provided as a part of these instructions.

Please let me know if there are any issues, and enjoy the achievements!

A question, how i can get all Force Gems if i can't complete one side-quest ? I talking about Steem Decoration you get from Wise one after her questions WITH MIC

( Retroarch configurations, to be more precisely )

Use L3 to cheese it. There isn't actually any speech detection, so it'll interpret noise decently enough after a couple tries.

There is a option to mimic a microphone in retroarch so.... thanks.

With my laptop, even something as simple as the duet with Gage was impossible before the patch. Even with the patch and an external mouse it was far trickier than the game intended. I worry about this "end game duet" may still be outside of feasibility for me.
Ah well, just have to see how it works once I get there!

It is possible! It may help if you adjust your mouse's sensitivity, as well.

Hmm I can't seem to patch it using flips. Any other way to do it? I used your patch and the US nds rom for the game. BTW, only 3 missables in the set? Thanks for the help!

Got it to work now I think. It was the wrong rom :)
