Mastery #1; Cooking Mama Beaten in 3 hours 28 minutes Mastery in 21 hours 52 minutes 12.23.24
I'm writing mastery diaries here since I'm a little shy lol (orz)... my first Mastery and it's a fun game, if not a bit unimpressive. I never played this one during my childhood so I found the recipe tree system a bit weird and repetitive but I kind of liked it. Pretty easy game to beat but mastery is HELL. I thought these games would have some easy and chill achievements only to suffer... <\3 Skills like cut, remove foam and pound the rice took quite a while and chop was my personal hell. I don't recommend playing with a mouse, either using a mobile device or a drawing tablet feels way better. Not much to say other then that, onto the next one o7
Happy New Year LOL. I still kinda don't know how this site tracks time, is it the time that passes on emulator or in real time? If its the former then it's definitely my abuse of speed up... What 2 lacks in challenges it makes up for in monotony. Beating every recipe with a gold medal and then doing it again in the let's cook mode is so time consuming... it can get frustrating. I played this a lot as a kid though and it was fun to 100%. I never knew the sound effect for getting every item in the game was so satisfying! I also liked dressing Mama up in bling. ... I'm so tired.
So you’re the legendary cooking mamma player?! I’ve heard stories of your expertise but I never imagined such a feat would be possible! Two cooking mamma badges on a single wall? This year is producing warriors of the most elite breed✨🏆
@AfroCentriX65 LOL, the badges are so cute! I'm wondering if I should knock out the third one quickly as well... 🤔 I see though, thank you! It kind of incentives resetting achievements for quicker complete times but I can't be bothered
Go for that 3rd one for sure (☝ ՞ਊ ՞)☝️!! And nah don’t worry, completion time isn’t a metric that’s important in any way. Leaderboards here only care about point amounts and in most places the community is even taking steps to not have people rushing to get masteries before everyone else.
Go at your own pace my friend rushing isn’t the goal here, just have fun and build a pretty wall full of fun masteries💎
Third Cooking Mama game mustard... (get it...?) I wanted to have the badges for these games all neatly lined up on my page because it looks nice. I never played any other in the series besides 2 before this so I was kind of surprised by the polish this game has. A lot of the UI and artwork has improved and is very charming. There are a lot of new minigames that I enjoyed (well, at least at first) but they can be so SLOW, which does not help the pace when you're crawling though each dish recipe over and over until you finally clear it with a gold medal. And then a gold medal again. And.. and then... and ... and... *cries*
I was so naive to think that mastering the game would be less monotonous than its predecessor. I thought it was going to be the easiest, something I would bang out in a few days. NO. You have to complete 80 recipes perfectly THREE times which is 240 recipes you have to complete. This is not accounting for how many times you will have to repeat the recipe after a mistake. Mastered is truly an apt title for 100%-ing this game. If you love yourself then I implore that you skip doing this, it is true torture on earth. If you really want to, I suggest at least pacing yourself to maybe a few recipes a day.
This game also has a shopping minigame, which is kind of like leap frog if you were in a crowded supermarket (so basically like hell). I kind of liked it though.
I bid you adieu Mama. May we not meet again anytime soon.
This game feels like a flash game... it has a lot of nostalgic qualities to it. Honestly, it's not very good but something about it is so charming. It was a quick and easy game to knock out and I had fun. (mostly) It's not very hard to get any of achievements, if you grab most of the candy you'll end the game with a score over 15k. I'm not sure if there's anything else in particular I can really say about it.
Always me trying to do everything last minute... ദ്ദി(╥﹏╥) This was a really cute rom-hack! I have very little experience with the Mother franchise outside of seeing it here and there, so I was really charmed. This site ends up convincing you to play and complete stuff you might not have even thought to have before and I think that's cool... The battles weren't too hard, the hardest achievement was trying not to level up before beating the bear LOL. I had a lot of fun with this one! Maybe I'll give Mother/Earthbound a shot sometime.... hrmmm...
Old games like this are really novel. I really enjoyed the concept of this game but playing it? Different story. Used a glitch like everyone else, obviously. I'm no pro.... It was fun baiting the guys around the objects, well it would've been if it didn't take me like 12 tries, my thumbs didn't hurt and I actually slept well....
It's a decent set, not too bad. Nothing really tricky once you get everything down. 100k score is a bit rough though.
Throwing in the towel here... I wanted that Sora badge so bad but I no longer have the determination (or the skills) to continue... my thumbs hurt so bad
@Verbena Thanks LOL, I like having them all in one place
@Verbena Right? Kicking myself in the head for not starting sooner, i would of loved to play some paper mario instead of giving myself carpel tunnel over Snow Bros

I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
This game makes me SUPER (mariosunshine) nostalgic. I remember playing it with my dad and not being all too great at the game myself as a kid, never really making it past Pinna Park in any of my own saves. I don't think I've played this game in 15 or so years, so I was super surprised at how natural the controls felt to me. I mean it's a Mario game, so a lot of his movements are intuitive but I just really like how he feels to play in this game, especially spin jumps. I LOVE Sunshine, especially it's art direction... I love art in video games, and visiting this game has me wishing for more environmentally cohesive Mario games. The colors are lovely, the art style is lovely, the immersion is top notch... and level design, while sometimes a bit simple, is super fun. Also the water is still visually impressive.
100%ing the game is not that hard. There are a few tricky secret levels and blue coins can become QUITE obscure but I don't think it's particularly arduous. Sunshine is fun! Almost every minute I spend playing this game has me hooked... Past 100%ing the game, I really enjoyed achievement hunting the challenges. (Mostly.) There's so much tricky and obscure stuff to pull off here, but it's really one of those sets that has you become super familiar with how Mario moves. There are a few achievements that I felt where a bit unfair, particularly using the Turbo nozzle for Ricco Harbor's Secret Level but... well, it is called MASTERY and you are MASTERING Mario's controls so I'll bite my tongue. I decided to stream some of my final achievements and I also had a lot of fun with that! I'd love to come back to a subset or Eclipse someday...
I was supposed to finish Red Rescue Team before this, but the monotony was driving me crazy.... (Mew is waterboard torturing me as I type)

If you were to unlock 1 cheevo today and then finally get the set mastered 1 year from now, the total mastery time would show as 1 year.

@DemiDeityLink They're pretty fun, basically like a bunch of mini games! :D Good luck with some of those achievements though... o7
