In fact, this is just a coincidence, the ideas of achievements for collecting all the medals were in my thoughts initially, and for Green Grove 1 the idea of making an achievement for a quick passage was the most interesting among the other
alternatives considered, given that the level itself is easy and short and part of the rings cannot be avoided. But it was easier to understand the number of medals at the level thanks to DX hack set.
Although in theory I can assume that somewhere on Spring Stadium 1 there is a secret fifth medal that can be obtained by some completely unobvious way (it is in the memory of the game, including the version on Saturn, in some prototypes and in DX
hack (there you can even find it in the level editor) but is in a constantly inactive state outside the level, most likely this is just a game bug, but I admit the possibility that under certain conditions it can move to another place and become
Hmm... Maybe this is a bug or it is a "forgotten object" on the game source code and level design while it was being manipulated in 1996 (maybe it's still present on Directors Cut edition).
Spring Stadium Zone has a shiny level design and you can miss Sonic medal so easily. You would need to see carefully until notice it. Also, I don't consider Directors Cut as a hack because it's from original author (Jon Burton from Travelers Tales) which is great!
I forgot to say one thing that I noticed a long time ago, but dunno about you: Sonic 3D Blast appears to be made on same engine used on Toy Story game for Mega Drive released in 1995 by Travelers Tales too. Level skip and fade in/out effect seems the same
Hi, just wanna say Thank you for you really great sets. (especially CD Jim, yeah) I really love your approach to work. And also you're really great person and human(?).
Зедзи, спасибо за все что ты делаешь на сайте! Твой подход к работе - лучший пример для окружающих! Твои сеты - образцовые! Удачи тебе во всем, дружище!
Your revision for Alex Kidd is disgusting. Why not make a bonus set? Or better yet do them for games that do not have sets. Have you seen the comments on the game?
I have seen some unsubstantiated comments from those players who have not even tried to take new achievements, yes (by the way, some of them are softcore players, including you by the way). And what exactly is in my set that is at least close to the level of the bonus set? And yes, before my revision and editing of old achievements, this game had practically nothing - beat the game (it even worked on easy), get a certain item (and even then 2 items were not covered at all) and collect 2000 gold (done in the process of passing the game without any problems). And what of this really opened up the game, would motivate you to do something in the game that you would not do at all without achievements (and without this, a set of achievements does not make sense)? And I will also add that not a single old achievement was protected from a cheat that initially gave 2 items of each type and 500 gold from the start, and the achievement for completing the game allowed you to lose at the last level, enter the sound test, listen to a certain melody and the achievement triggered even without beating the game. This has now been fixed too.
Sorry, but I'll remove the claim this time. I didn't have time to make a plan for the extension (it's hard for me to write in English, I use Google Translate for this), and there are plans for the next month that need to be implemented. But if the game isn't picked up by someone else, then I'll most likely return to development in March. I love this game, I've already spent a lot of time developing achievements for it and I don't want to have to throw this work away. But due to certain events, it would be more logical to take a short break now anyway.
