Thanks! It was a really fun set! Little disappointed in myself that I wasn't able to be the first to master it, but honestly, getting the gold star in Stage 9 of Volcano Valley was an achievement on its own, haha. Darn that long stage with those mini bosses, especially that bat at the end...
Moving to your user wall to avoid clogging up one achievement page.
Robin and Fiona Ogre I can definitely see causing issues as their combos and slams aren't really that great. The latter in particular gave me frustration with Prince Charming's level. But for Quasi? How did he give you more trouble than Shrek? He's essentially the same character only having a much better Slam then him.
It's funny how we have more problems with the 10 point characters than the 25 point ones. Characters like Donkey, Cyclops, Humpty Dumpty, or Huffing Puff Wolf aren't really that bad to play as. Easy to spam combos with good slams. Meanwhile characters like Luna, Robin Hood, and Fiona Ogre struggle like heck on the later rounds. Luna in particular is really bad for getting through it and if it wasn't for her easy to spam dash attack then she would be definitely a contender for 25 points.
I have no idea how I had even more trouble with Quasi than I did with Shrek, man. The AI just plain HATED me when I used him, ESPECIALLY the Cyclops trio, to the point where they would all just band together to jump me. I struggled to even get past the Lunas even with my Slam & Run strategy because Quasi's combos were just so bad against constantly moving targets. I'm certain it must've been because at least Shrek had that shockwave he gave off whenever he did his air slam and his Slam at least manages to cover a large radius. Quasi's Slam, on the other hand, felt like I just HAD to get RIGHT up close to the AI at times for it to even connect. Sometimes the AI would just work together to combo me like crazy that I would straight up lose my Slam entirely. My salt levels were going through the roof with how awful he was to get through for me.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that agrees that some of the ten point characters tended to feel strangely harder than the 25 pointers. Humpty wasn't even that bad even if I needed to do his run three times, and that was only because the game decided to be cheap as hell and give the Charmings last second clutch victories twice in a row. I kid you not, I somehow was miraculous enough to beat the G-Nome run on my very first run and I was dreading to do him when I saw what was written about him. I'm pretty sure I must've lucked out with Luna too with spamming her basic square combo alongside the dash attacks because she wasn't that bad for me, even if she did take me a few tries.
It's weird to see the Cyclops group give you trouble most of the time the AI is complete utter braindead for them, or if not that one cyclops goes after you while the other two skedaddle around. Most of the time I don't have much problems with him unless the character I'm using has a tough time getting combos.
You have a point with Shrek getting the Slams easier because of that Shockwave, but I think Quasi has it better because you can actually MOVE during the slam and the it doesn't have small range.
I can understand the pain of having to deal with getting a win stolen from you at the last second, it happened to me plenty of times with Fiona, I was so done with her when I finally beaten her run.
G-Nome isn't too bad as long as you spam his air combo, he has trouble building up his slam otherwise. And yea you got it good with Luna, I despised how she played on the mode.
Hey i saw you completed M&S at the Olympic Winter Games, congrats. For me the achievement for collecting the 1930's memorabilia won't work, have you had problem with this one has well?
I actually had a similar issue too with the 1940s memorabilia where I filled it out yet the achievement wasn't popping for some reason. I think what I did to fix it was that I reset the game until I got a scenario where Rouge didn't get all of the 40s memorabilia and I eventually got them all later which caused the achievement to pop, so maybe the achievements popping was getting in the way somehow? I have no idea, it was so weird.
Hey, welcome to the 1000 Capsule Monsters team! It's one crazy ride, but it's more fun than you'd expect. Not sure I ever congratulated you on mastering the original set, but awesome job!
Speaking on that note, I'm currently working on a Capsule Monsters mod. It's pretty close to be done. I posted a couple videos and did a couple lives streams of it on my YouTube if it strikes your interest.
Hi there! I have been interested in trying the subset for a good while now after I managed to finish the main and so far it's been going swimmingly, even if the grind has been real for a good number of monsters... Definitely will be doing the ante trick to make the grind for particularly tricky to obtain monsters (Looking at you all of those evolutions and fusions that require materials to be at level 5-6, the slogfest that's getting Celtic Guardian to appear in the shop and especially Trent who can only be obtained on Shadi's second fight through pure RNG LOL) more tolerable to deal with, haha.
I did see that a mod for the game was being made and I'm definitely excited to try it out myself soon! Just wanna thank you again for taking the time to make so many sets for easily one of my favorite PS2 games and I'm definitely hyped to see what comes next!
Oh wow! So happy you’re having a good time. 🙂 I’d say my goal was achieved with the Capsule Monsters sets! It’s my favorite PS2 game too.
Hopefully you don’t burn out too hard. The mod will be getting its own achievement set too. There will be 18 new monsters, and a total of 50 new opponent decks. Yep, that’s right, 50. There will be an easy side and a hard side to each opponent. I have a lot of ideas of how the achievement set is going to work. It won’t be a copy and paste of the original, it will be unique with some interesting features thrown in. I’m really looking forward to it. Also the mod focuses less on fusions and evolutions, most of them you can gain by opponents.
