@devtec79 soundtrack is awesome. also one of my fond memories of the warriors franchise is the OSTs. the games good in mechanics. practically down to a T with what a warriors game is. but the resetting the level each battle and having no equipment besides attaching bodyguards is a big snooze for me. i like collecting weapons. new weapons and the same but potentially better. so i'm really glad they put that in vol2. the set itself is going to be extremely snooze for me because of the resetting the levels and having to do every single character as well. i mean. i get it and understand why they are achievos. however, doing the same faction story multiple times with not much incentive to play each character, because level resetting, is a major ugh to me. i'll get it done eventually. i just really have to feel it to make progress on it.
you've got WO2 mastery for sure. it's literally a time game more than anything anybody can master it with ease thanks to the godliness you can make the characters in the franchise.
speaking of WO. Raichi has picked it up a 3rd time. understand why he dropped out the other times. giving his burn out developing dw4+xl achievos. can't be mad by it, and i support their decision for doing so. Though, seems to be tackling it a lot since acquiring the set development this time round. so it's looking promising for WO1 set coming soon! I DON'T CARE WHAT I'M PLAYING. i'm dropping what ever it is i'm playing at the time and hoping on WO1 set. even if it is tales of the world radianth mythology. a set i'm really looking forward too. Warriors games always come 1st to me haha (except dw vol1 psp lmao)
Crash Bash 1/2. Well the experience from my memory as a child and the many hours put into this game way back then, is certainly different. majority of crash bash was easy and came rather naturally. but my god the RNG on some of them. Gem challenges the AI literally ighnores the rules of the activity and literally F* you. example of this the racing loop tracks. witnessing many times them ignoring the finish line do a complete 180 and stop me in my tracks specifically. gang up rocket b*kak* and OMG heaven forbid you fall off or get knocked off the edge and get that whombo combo of about 5-xx times before you can even start moving again. only 1 crystal challenge in the game was stressful IMExp. and if youre reading this you may already know before i say. SKY BALLS INSTANT RED BALLS OF DEATH. OMFG. THOSE THINGS ARE NOTORIOUS. now they are absolutely easily avoidable for the most part. however, RNG dictates F* U. there was a lot of loses that resulting the red balls hitting from post to post. which perfectly line swipes my ball park. which all you can do is just watch as your absolute finite defeat is coming. or it bounces from side to side (if your last opponent is opposite you) moving down towards you very slightly with each bounce and resulting the same. OR a silver ball is turned into the RED BALL OF DEATH from a corner opponent and they've yeeted it so perfectly in line at you that it covers you're entire line. but that was the only issue and judging by comments on the set as well others feel the same lol Relics were pretty bob standard experience. genuinely felt it was mostly easier than some gem and crystal challenges for the most part. it was just like the tournaments set to hard, except the rule of having to win in a row (x2 for gold and x3 for platinum respectively).
Crash Bash 2/2. Achievos: set was pretty solid. Practically goes into all aspects of the game and what kind of game it is. collect all of this and that. complete each of the tournaments and complete a tournament with each 1 of the characters. the game is both skill and also highly RNG based. you can have a lot of skill, but the RNG can really make things difficult and or frustrating beyond that. so completing the set would vary from person to person. even 2 people of the same skill level would have either an easier or worse time than the other, due to the RNG AI.
i do feel like the set could've been a bit more akin to the other crash bandicoot games and their sets. for an example an achievo for a trophy, gem, crystal and relics each, for each level respectively. rather than just being 1 of each for the whole warp room respectively. it wouldboth feel more rewarding as you progress through the game and the set. and it wouldn't mess things up and give huge amounts of points either.
a levels trophy 3 points (reason is 3 wins to win it. 1 point each) a levels gem 4 points (only need to win once but it's a challenge on top of the same rules) a levels crystal 4 points (only need to win once but it's a challenge on top of the same rules) a level gold and platinum relic 5 points each (same as tournament on hard mode but multiple wins in a row) and keep the rest of the set as is.
by calculating, that would add an additional 588 points total to the set. totaling 1,158 points. given that a lot of people be putting in a lot of time into the game. and tbf anguish and frustration to a lot of people. it would make for a more tantalizing reason to continue going. not just the overall points. but the achievo popage and sense of accomplishment and progression.
all in a ll i enjoyed the set and playing this classic from way back when. just a few levels and RNG moments that gave a bit a stress. so, pretty normal crash bash experience.
Crash Bandicoot the Wratch of Cortex 1/2. After doing crash bash, it was nice to get onto a platforming crash bandicoot game again. i didn't 100%, or rather 106%, this game growing up. only chance i got to play it back then, was when i visited a friends house to play it with them. Back then i hated the ball levels. i didn't like that change from platform to that. which had me nervous tackling this set initially. this time round however, i found myself really enjoying them. especially in the time trial. i found them really fun. Now the mechanics arent as grounded as the ps1 trilogy, and are hella floaty in this game. which feels very ugh at 1st. but the levels are built on it, and are built very well overall. Models of the game are nighmare fuel. absolutely, crash twinsanity had it right and way better than this game. i didn't find the platforming challenging overall. there were a few levels i had to restart for the no death getting all boxes achievos but mostly i got them in 1 go. to put into perspective from the nostalgia. the furthest i got at my younger age was "level 8, Banzai Bonsai". so the rest of the game was a complete mystery to me. the time relics wasn't difficult i found either, practically swooped it. with about 4 / 5 levels having to redo a few times due to only getting gold time.
is it 1 of the best? no. not really. but it is solid as a platformer. that being said a lot of death was depth perception related. but i guess this game had to be made for others to flourish. like spyro enter the dragonfly. DAFUQ ARE THOSE MODELS. but granted earlish days of the ps2 era. going from 1 resolution to another and making the models look roughly similar while also advancing them in the tech is a weaning process. look at early ps3 era. early ps4 era, to a lesser degree. just is what it is. thats progress for you. i'd recommend those that previously had a bad experience with this game to give it a proper 2nd go. like me, maybe surprised!
Crash Bandicoot the Wrath of Cortex 2/2. Achievos: Set was absolutely solid IMO. Akin to the likes of crash 2 and 3. you have your progression achievos, naturally. but mainly it's a challenge achievos set. You have your achievos for getting all gems respectively to their specific warp rooms. and achievos for defeating bosses. mostly the achievos for the levels specific gems are obtained by breaking all boxes without dying throughout. basically flawless completing. and each boss has a challenge achievo attached as well. which honestly i really loved that. goes without saying that it has achievos for getting the platinum relics as well. which i guess would be both challenge and progression achievos. as theyre meant to be the hardest the game gives you for a challenge.
NOW. OMG. SMOKEY AND THE BANDICOOT GEM ACHIEVO!!! it was the last achievo i popped and for a good reason. im not about to spend hours on end chipping at my sanity. so i basically kept going back to it and kept giving it a few goes here and there. having to get all boxes and come 1st. sounds pretty easy on paper. but remember me saying about the floaty mechanics? yea the car is ridiculous. makes need for speed drift look like it plays like an F1 game lol. For real though. it was and is difficult. and im not the only 1. a lot of people in the comments are raging and raving about it. but also in the comments there is a nice insight to handling the vehicle better. instead of using the analog stick. use the D-pad instead. much more control. still floaty. but you get much more control overall.
do not have any complaints about the set. it is well done. even the points given for certain things. mostly the gems with no deaths give you 5 points. but the previously mentioned race achievo gives you 10. same with some platinum relics. the really easy ones give you only 5 points while mostly they give you 10.
if youre a crash bandicoot fan. i'd recommend challenging yourself to the set!
Sonic Advance 2. Man, I remember when i was like 12 or 13 and getting all the chaos emeralds, the scene where sonic turns into super sonic was pretty cool. i dont know what it is about 2 i just. it seems to be a recurring thing for me. sonic 2 for the mega drive/ genesis was my fave. and although i've not played advance 1 and 3 before. still the fact that 2 was my GBA experienced and i enjoyed it. just weird most of them are the 2nd title.
Achievos: The set is really standard stuff. literally is just to complete the game through. and 100% casually. well sorta, once you unlock Amy you don't need to bother with chaos emeralds to get the mastery. comparing it to other sonic sets that i've had a look at. it is pretty bare bones. and thats ok. games don't need spreedrun strats to master. i feel like the set could've been fleshed out a bit more though. give people more to feel good during the progression. Like when you get through playing as sonic you get the achievos for getting through the stages. could've also included that with the other characters. given them more to go off on, besides just complete the game as this character. Achievos for each emerald respectively per character. which would give Amy more use, instead of B lining to the end to mastery.
all in all it's a bare bones set. and again it's ok to be that way. people looking at other sonic sets and may be discouraged by the speedrun times for each stage. this set gives those something to enjoy and feel good. although in the comments there is the few complaining still about having to unlock amy by getting all emeralds with each character. can't please everyone i guess. it's not like it's a RA dev problem. it's how the game was made lmao
At the moment i'm at a loss with what i want to play going forward. I have quite the list of games i am yet to play but it all depends on how i'm feeling and how much time i have to sink in. with WO1 set being released soon. im putting the bigger ones on halt.
Lego Indiana Jones 1. Do enjoy a collectathon game. and my 1st lego game i played was lego star wares the skywalker saga. Yes, the most recent 1 to date. after that i went back to play some more lego games with the ps server streaming of ps3 games. i haven't played adventure 1 before but i have played the 2nd lego indi game. but RA didn't have the 2nd game as a set yet. so, i decided to go against my roadmap a little, and play a game i haven't played yet. some respawning points after a death from a fall was rather annoying. resulting in multi-deaths. but as for a lego game, it is, as always been practically. rather enjoyed it. couple of platforming depth perception issues, but not a lot of it.
Achievos: The set was bob standard progression and play the game to 100%. no challenge achievos. however, i loved that the dev (who doesn't even have an account on RA anymore) included that you had to get through the story 1st without use of any red brick, in game cheats, active. making the player, play the story, at least just the once through, as original intended. The whole set falls into place with the collecting of the extra stuff, as you make your way through your second run with free mode. which rosters you with guaranteed characters needed for all aspects of puzzles and challenges. buying characters not being problematic, especially when you obtain multipliers, that do stack (x2 + x4 = x8). The star wars cameo characters are also behind the need of use with characters in free mode. so you'll get those as you progress after completing the story the 1st time.
all in all. just generally enjoyed a collectathon game. set didn't take too long. and there wasn't much difficulty to it.
Dynasty Warriors psp 1/2. Warrior games. absolutely, love them. spent my teen years majority on the franchise (dynasty, samurai, orochi). i just love them. That being said. this game is boring AF. now. don't get me wrong. I played it a lot, way back when, on psp hardware. because it was the only 3D and decent dynasty warriors to play in my hands and wherever i go, at the time. but it also did bore me back then as well. heck if it wasn't for the set on RA, i really wouldn't be using 89% of the roster at all in this game. The very minute progression on a character after a battle, is, well, UGH! there's no other weapon to the characters. besides when you hit level 7 on a battle, and the characters weapon is visually formed into their 3rd weapon. that doesn't do anything for your stats, at all! for me a big part of DW is getting the weapons. and even the same weapon with better stats. and ofc, doing special requirements to get them nice 4th weapons and special items. and to have the level reset after each battle just feels boring. it's a chess game, masked with DW 3D models. now the positives. i can't love this game, even though it's birthed by my most beloved franchise. but i can really respect it. it paved the way for better warrior games coming to the psp hardware. DW vol2, SW state of war and lets not forget, the practically 1:1 ports of warriors orochi games. ok, so disregarding WO games because it is full battle GP like the ps2 versions and focus on just the same kind of game style as DW psp. vol2 had it right with having weapons also involved. SW SoW had it right with the way you advance on the chessboard and again had weapons. that alone for me just makes a big difference.
Dynasty Warriors psp 2/2 Achievos: The set, i really cant complain. and i understand why the achievos are like they are. the fault is really in the games design. having every character go through every stage of a faction and not particularly their time frame. which, yes DW4 is the same and this game is based off of. but when you have to go through 11-14 characters per faction. the same thing on each. it's pretty, ooft. i say this in because each character has an achievo for completing musou mode respective to them. in fact, my only gripe with the set is the choice on points set to them. 5 points. it would be much more preferred on 10, given the time put in per character. I get it, 1 point per battle. but, during the 1st run of a factions musou mode you get 2,3,4,5 points for winning the battle the 1st time. changing them from 5 to 10 to me would be more rewarding for time. the set also has quirky achievos too. which i enjoyed setting up the requirements for. stuff like, start a stage with LuBu on Red hare, being such a simple achievo giving 1 point. and then you have some good pretty good ones too like have an officer roster consisting of playable characters from future main title releases. i really enjoyed that 1, figuring them out and trying to slot them in with LuBu. was a challenge in itself but i managed to form a team that met the conditions. i'd say theres 1 challenging achievo. which is defeat LuBu on chaos difficulty after he rages himself to lv10. though i wrecked him, it's still the most challenging achievo in this set. ofc theres do all stages on chaos difficulty achievos respective to the stages itself. but all in all not that difficult. now, chaos mode was way more interesting than the other modes. depending on time, focus on generals or a close supply base at 1st. once a general is defeated you don't need to fight them again. you're army will take care of them. and theres a few stages you can just B line with no problems
fina final of dw psp: literally took such a long time due to how bored it got me and the lack of interest to keep going with progressing on it. I'm just very thankful it is over and i can lay it to rest. Also, if it wasnt for the WO1 set currently being in development, i probably still wouldn't have the set mastered, because i'd be focusing and playing other big titles that require time to master. but due to this, i'm currently playing smaller games and games that i'm ok with dropping mid way. like dw psp.
Lego indiana jones 1 PSP. nothing reallly to write about. console port to the psp. but weirdly there was aspects of the gameplay that felt more polished other than that. nothing that i've already written. that also goes for comments for the set.
Lego indiana jones 2 psp 1/2. Now theres going to be a bit of hate here. lol. i played this game on ps3. and given the ps3 is the ps2 version. and given the 1st lego indi was a port of the ps2 version onto psp. i was expecting the same for lego indi 2 on the psp. NOPE. turns out it's the DS version ported to the psp. to put into a few words. i didn't like it, ultimately. The platforming, is, OMFG. challenges weren't that much of a challenge. that being said if it involved platforming, it most certainly took me a few goes. jumping felt inconsistent at time, usually when needed the most. It didn't feel like the lego experience i am used to. for reference lego games i've played are. indi 1+2. pirates. lego movie. batman 2. star wars skywalker saga. maybe 1 or 2 more i cant think on the top of my head. all of which are on the ps. all within roughly the same design with tweaks to suit the co-franchise respectively. This didn't feel like a lgo game to me. Bunch of mini-games and actual level designs felt pretty dull n didn't make much sense, both in connectivity between parts of the level and progression. the whole thing was a chore after a chore to get through the story. My memory was a bit haze on indi 2 on ps3 and when i came to realize this wasn't the same experience and was of a different poirt i had already popped enough achievos to be like, "well got to finish it now".
Seen some comments of it being the low key better iteration of the game. Now I'm not sh*tting on anybodies childhood experience and admiration for the game at all. only IMO and exp, i just cant like the game, at all. It's mastered now and im not even feeling good about obtaining it. all i feel is. thank f*ck, that's done and dusted.
it's a shame the ps2 version doesnt have a set. maybe 1 day?
Lego indiana jones 2 psp 2/2. Achievos: Same as you'd expect from a lego game. collectathon etc and roughly the same experience as indi 1, with the addition of a good handful challenge achievos. given the game was filled with mini-games. The set was built well. no problems. the challenges was good and well thought. nothing too stupid, like speedrunning or needing to be 110% perfect. the game platforming made for some challenges to be rough but all in all not bad either. the requirements for the challenges are in this margin that requires you to do more and be better than the game target for a golden brick/artifact. but not stupidly more either, you can mess up and still get that achievo.
Even though i didn't enjoy the game as a whole. i can respect the set and how it was put together.
it's a 50/50 recommendation from me. if you've already played the DS version before i would suggest yes, get them achievos! if not. then, think about if you want to do it just purely for points and mastery, and not for general enjoyment comparatively to other lego games experiences. if mastering isn't your thing and just want to check out a new game. i would certainly say keep looking.
quote from orochi himself. as i know you won't get it.
thank you very much for the congratulatory message (:
also. as of mastering the likes of COD games. I don't particularly have the mind, nor fun, from making mini reviews anymore on my wall. Feel like it's pointless... i'll leave what i've put thus far. some sort of journey log, i guess.
WO1 set was done nicely. Raichi is an awesome dev, and person in general. wish the person good fortune in life going forward.
Oh I will for sure! It’s a choice between WO1 and finishing up Gundam but WO1 set doesn’t seem as long as the Gundam set so I’ll probably end up doing WO1 first. Wrapping up symphonia now and thinkin the next game will be Wind Waker or maybe Baten Kaitos. Leaning more on Wind Waker first I think after such a long rpg. Twilight princess I’m supposed to play with a friend but the stars have not aligned yet it seems lol
Nice! i am looking forward to delving into the "tales of..." series. waiting on "...the world radiant mythology"! as that is the only game i played of the series. thoroughly enjoyed it. once that gets released, i'll be playing that 1st. then i'll move on to the others in the the series. kinda exciting. new stories and worlds to jump into. what would you recommend to go for 1st?
wind waker. nice. wish you luck on getting the mastery. if you're going for mastery that is (: And hopefully your friend becomes available soon for that ZTP play (:
I am too! I have a feeling all of them are gonna be good and I'm happy to hear world radiant mythology sounds like it's gonna be too. I haven't played much of the tales of series aside from symphonia and vesparia. Both of those I definitely recommend and Symphonia so much so I replayed it 5-6 times for the set and subset! 3 playthroughs are required, 1 was an error on affection tallies, another was because there was a problem with unlocking 100% tools gathered and another for accessories with Rune Bottles not triggering the cheevo and the last run for the subset which was rather quick.

there's no other weapon to the characters. besides when you hit level 7 on a battle, and the characters weapon is visually formed into their 3rd weapon. that doesn't do anything for your stats, at all! for me a big part of DW is getting the weapons. and even the same weapon with better stats. and ofc, doing special requirements to get them nice 4th weapons and special items. and to have the level reset after each battle just feels boring. it's a chess game, masked with DW 3D models.
now the positives. i can't love this game, even though it's birthed by my most beloved franchise. but i can really respect it. it paved the way for better warrior games coming to the psp hardware.
Achievos:
The set, i really cant complain. and i understand why the achievos are like they are. the fault is really in the games design. having every character go through every stage of a faction and not particularly their time frame. which, yes DW4 is the same and this game is based off of. but when you have to go through 11-14 characters per faction. the same thing on each. it's pretty, ooft.
i say this in because each character has an achievo for completing musou mode respective to them. in fact, my only gripe with the set is the choice on points set to them. 5 points. it would be much more preferred on 10, given the time put in per character.
Also, if it wasnt for the WO1 set currently being in development, i probably still wouldn't have the set mastered, because i'd be focusing and playing other big titles that require time to master. but due to this, i'm currently playing smaller games and games that i'm ok with dropping mid way. like dw psp.
i played this game on ps3. and given the ps3 is the ps2 version. and given the 1st lego indi was a port of the ps2 version onto psp. i was expecting the same for lego indi 2 on the psp. NOPE. turns out it's the DS version ported to the psp.
to put into a few words. i didn't like it, ultimately.
Achievos:
Same as you'd expect from a lego game. collectathon etc and roughly the same experience as indi 1, with the addition of a good handful challenge achievos. given the game was filled with mini-games.
Master of Warriors Orochi!!!!!
LEGEND!!!
quote from orochi himself. as i know you won't get it.
thank you very much for the congratulatory message (:
also. as of mastering the likes of COD games. I don't particularly have the mind, nor fun, from making mini reviews anymore on my wall. Feel like it's pointless... i'll leave what i've put thus far. some sort of journey log, i guess.
WO1 set was done nicely. Raichi is an awesome dev, and person in general. wish the person good fortune in life going forward.
kinda exciting. new stories and worlds to jump into. what would you recommend to go for 1st?
wind waker. nice. wish you luck on getting the mastery. if you're going for mastery that is (:
And hopefully your friend becomes available soon for that ZTP play (:
Thank you! That's what I'm working on next! :)
