This world is made of Laugh and Peace. Or whatever. I don't know. I'm tired.

There are games that seem to be more recognition and this game is one of them. A fantastic gaming and overall experience that the latter even looks official. Thank you KingS1zzle

Mastered! This game gets so intense. Even as a lifelong rhythm gamer some of these courses are nasty and challenging. Vibri is super cute though so it balances out, all my friends are obsessed with her.

How do i use a cd on Duckstation?
mariteaux 7 Jul 2023 14:14
Best thing to do is to image the disc and set up an M3U playlist with your Vib-Ribbon image. Then you can use the Change Disc function in the menu. If you switch to a new image outright, RA won't treat it as you're playing Vib anymore and you won't be able to get achievements.
Tdiggity13 18 Jul 2023 05:21
mariteaux, forgive my ignorance, but could you provide a little more detail on how that's done? Aside from the Vib Ribbon image, what else is in that m3u playlist? Do I also need to create a disc image of an audio CD? Thanks!
mariteaux 18 Jul 2023 13:39
Your Vib-Ribbon image (whatever format that's in, cue or chd or etc) on the first line of the M3U, and then you'll either need to make images of the CDs you intend to use or use vibcue and Audacity to generate a fake disc image using MP3s and whatever audio you have on your computer, and those go on each subsequent line of the M3U. I'd recommend you read the forum thread because people have gone into great detail already and there's not a ton I can say or link to in an RA comment.

would be nice to have like a fan album made by the community to play in the game.
Player1041 27 Mar 2024 17:56
@fantasmaazul tbh ive just remembered this game existed and if i can figure it out, id gladly make a subset of like 'RA Selects: Vol. 1' where its just a bunch of songs people want in
fantasmaazul 30 Mar 2024 00:27
if you think is possible, can we ask on the forum, o maybe on reddit
fantasmaazul 30 Mar 2024 00:56
my take is flat flat by patricia taxxon
Player1041 30 Mar 2024 01:37
id need to get permission from the devcompliance and qa team i think it is before i can because of how jr dev works, but if im allowed, im 100% going for it; the hardest thing would probably be recognizing which song is played and if its the right one, i havent actually tried custom songs on vib ribbon
mariteaux 30 Mar 2024 01:40
I can about guarantee you that there's no way to verify specific songs are being played. CDs (which is all that the game sees regardless of what you give it) have very little metadata attached to them, and using slightly different masters of a song (say, a 1991 original and its 2011 remaster, or even just a video copy versus the album version) would generate different levels, so you can't use the game's output as a guarantee of anything either. You'd have to provide the music to players of the set, which of course runs into questionable legality, and even then you might still be able to exploit it (say, using songs of the same length).
Player1041 30 Mar 2024 01:44
in regards to legality, surely it would be legal in the same way custom songs for clone hero are legal right?
mariteaux 30 Mar 2024 01:46
CH doesn't come with custom songs. They all come from various people's Google Drive accounts and the CH team doesn't touch them because they are objectively redistributing copyrighted material. If you'd like to post them somewhere that isn't RA, then yes, I'm sure you could get away with it.
