Mastered! Lmao, beating a visual novel in a different language without making any mistakes is surprisingly difficult, at least save scumming is allowed for those achievements. It would be nice if this achievement set supported an English patch but I understand if that's not possible. I sped through everything and used an automatic key-presser so my final in-game time was only 3:02:20 according to RetroArch. This is definitely a good choice if you're looking for easy points although it can be annoying if you only know English like me lol

I’m finding the best way to go about playing when you can’t read Japanese is play it side by side with the English ds port. The dialogue and on screen options are all in the same exact spots so you can copy exactly what you do on the ds.

Playing the DS version along side this one, or using a guide would make it easier to beat this Japanese only release.

Mastery #5. Playing this in a foreign language made for an interesting challenge trying to use my knowledge of the English version to beat this. Still, if you haven't played this game several times over like i have, you will wanna use a guide or play the English version at the sane time, as suggested by the above comments.

there are fan patches that translated the entire game to the english version of the DS game to the GBA but the main point of this set is to beat a visual novel in japanese. also do yourself a favor and play this game on the gpSP core cuz i was using the bettlegba core til the fourth case but then my emulator crashed and when I loaded my save, i got back to the first day of investigation on Turnabout Samurai.

Thoughts:

-I've already beaten the English DS version 4 or 5 times already. Since I'm part of the speedrunning Discord for this series, I just used the guide they had there, which made things much smoother.

-Frame throttle made this game take half as long as it should have, which I'm fine with since A) again, I've beaten this several times already in English and B) it's not like I can read it very well anyway (I only know a little bit of Japanese, to the point where I could read it, but not understand it much-)

-I never have to touch either version of this game again yay-

Mastered! I've played through the english version almost 15 times by now, through my own playtroughs, with friends, or for lets plays, and even in a text I cannot read at all, it still grips me a lot. Thank you Gyakuten Saiban for being freaking epic!

Cool experience if you’ve played the game a bunch of times previously and have a decent grasp on at least the kana alphabets, some common kanji wouldn’t hurt either. Followed a written guide with nothing translated which felt really immersive. Would’ve been a slog without fast-forward and turbo A. Thanks for the unique set!

Mastery #209! Took me just under 2.5h to master thanks to fast forward and turbo A. Played the DS version a thousand times over, so it's cool to get to experience the original GBA version for the first time. Thank you for the set, really appreciated getting to play through this again!
