Mastered! As someone who hadn't really dabbled in Double Dash, this achievement list really made me learn how to consistently MT and how to A Tech (kinda) as well as showed me that my greatest enemy was the 15 blue shells that would appear on DK Mountain lap 3.

Awesome achievement list, had a lot of fun with this one!

for anyone struggling to do a Mini Turbo (MT): make sure that, in your config, your L analog and R analog are the same as your L and R inputs. otherwise, you will be cursed to exclusively orange drift and never be able to upgrade from orange to red and then blue. i had to find this out in a youtube comments section so i thought itd be helpful to note here 👍

@forestcreature I left my L/R-Analog completely unbound for the entirety of my playthrough and was still able to get mini-turbos pretty consistently, in Mario Karts DS and before, MTs are based off how much you wiggle the stick (say you're doing a left drift, you'd wiggle your stick in the lower right corner)

I saw a mod "Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Plus" adds for 64 tracks and 200cc, would be gnarly to see a set with achievements on day.

Time Trials were brutal... I am no speedrunner but holy damn you HAVE to know what to do and practice a lot. Don't find yourself upset because you can't get the time you want. Take breaks and come back to the time trials. Everything else? Tolerable.

If anyone needs tips for time trials

The Barrel Train is the best kart to use in this mode, it has high speed and good mini-turbo due to being a lightweight kart.

Hey friends, need some help with control settings. Having a LOT of difficulty getting my mini turbos when flicking, and unfortunately a lot of it is my controller. It’s only when I flick to the left my control stick needs to hit 100% left for it to count, but that direction is a bit wonky and flickers ever so slightly when I’m calibrating (holding it left it flickers around 95-100%)

Anyway, I need to figure out how to set dolphin to give my steering 100% while maybe only moving my control stick to like 80%
I THOUGHT the obvious answer was reducing the “gate size” but after playing around in games at both 100% and 20% it has no difference at all on the control stick (visible by the little red dot inside the control stick showing your actual range in game) so I’m at a loss. Seems like such a simple and required setting, I just can’t find it

Mastered! Pretty easy set in general but those Time Trials were pretty challenging. Don't underestimate the CPUs in the All Cup Tour either!

I made a tier list on how hard I found each Time Trial course. Use Lightweights + Barrel Train for the best results.
