I understand your point, CSDX, but FFIV has so many different versions, that it's kinda impossible to make a very unique set for each version. Some among them would ought to be a little more basic.

The real scary ones are the bestiary achievements; follow a guide if you are planning on getting them or it's not improbable that you'll miss some. Some common monsters are very hard to find in this version specifically because the RNG for them is messed up, though you can force the rarest monsters to spawn by quicksaving and then reloading and then fighting a few formations. The rare item drops also suck but those are in every FFIV set.

I wanna say that my main issue is this. How come there's no regular achievement for merely beating the boss for those bosses? Why can't the achievements mentioned be extra ones as a challenge?

Forgot to mention, while not as major an issue, I also think "beat this boss while said party member is alive" is also dumb if there's no regular "beat the boss and you're good" version of it.

I honestly don't disagree; the challenge conditions don't really add much at all to the majority of the fights anyway, and them replacing normal progression achievements is just weird. I think the set would probably just be better if they were all just changed to "Beat the boss" achievements.

Yeah. Though, now I'm curious. Is it okay for users to add their own Achievements or is it specifically the admins of the site that can do it? I admittedly don't know how making achievements for RetroAchievements works, but I also don't want to abuse any power with it, you know?

Set Revisions are a thing, you 'can' add your own achievements, but first you must be a Dev or a Jr. Dev. And as someone who's trying to make my own cheevos... it's hellish, it's hard, and kinda not worth. It's REALLY complicated messing with codes, adresses, numbers, deltas and etc. Wish I could be a Dev by doing the other parts of the set..

That...yeah, that makes sense. Not sure how I forgot that it involves coding knowledge and the sort.

So, in that case, is the EU version of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories GBA good, since that's the version that got achievements? I've admittedly been a stickler for playing the US version if it's available, but understand if push has to come to shove.

I looked it up on the cutting room floor (which documents many things about games, including version differences), and the only notable difference it mentions is the debug menu being more fleshed out in that version as opposed to the others, so it's likely that they're almost exactly the same. The European version was probably chosen just because it has more languages and is otherwise identical; you see that a lot with GBA and PSP games.

Mastered! Geeeez farming those summons and pink tail was AWFUL... Some tips for those willing to do it: Farm COCKATRICE and MIND FLAYER summon on Rydia Trial, and BOMB summon on the bomb room of Lunar Ruins. || Farm at least 30 SIREN to get the pink tail, and just do it after game, when you can just keep the A button pressed because you're too strong.

I added some notes in the X% Bestiary achievements for 10, 25, and 50 so anyone should have a good idea on when these achievements should click for them. I didn't bother with 75 or 100 because those'll come endgame in either the Lunar Subterrane or Cave of Trials (75%) depending on which one you tackle first, and then Lunar Ruins for 100%.

A few notes: You can get any of the trial-specific enemies you might have missed (like Cecil's Bandit or Rosa's Metamorph) by simply using the Grimoir you got from them (Rosa = LA, Cecil = LO) in any battle--this reopens the trial. You also can NOT get Green Dragon via an egg--the bestiary doesn't update with egg hatches, so you have to wait allll the way until the Lunar Trial where he can be found.

But is it okay to ask you adjust the achievements to not require party members be KO'd? I'm sorry, I don't understand why you(if you're the achievement developer and I'm not getting confused) made it that way.
