it blows my mind how the people that made these games always manage to screw them up. Mega man on gb was awful, mega man 2 was the closest they got to being serviceable. mega man 3 is trolly as fuck, and then this one they give the buster recoil.

This set needs some major reworking; as-is, there's extremely unnecessary password protection effectively banning multiple-sitting playthroughs, compounded by the inability to continue after beating the game and thus requiring many separate runs.

It's not clear but for the perfect file you just need to finish ballade 2 with every item at Max, you dont need to finish wily.

Unarmed Robot is absolute cancer as there's no definitive explanation on what's required to do and not do for the achievement. I still haven't unlocked it, even though I've beaten Wily with no lives, no tanks, no weapon energy, no B-E-A-T plates, no P-chaps, nothing. The only explanation I can think of is that I used a continue midway through my last try.

Finally got it jfc. I think it really was the continue that did me in. That or I accidentally grabbed one of those 1/4 E tank things and didn't notice. Also, emptying my weapon energy was completely unnecessary. lol

Mastered. Definitely the weakest of the GB Mega Man sets. That second Ballade fight done with no damage was torture. It gave me MM3 Doc Robot Wood Man vibes. Please, if you will design a cheevo that requires you to kill a boss with no damage and you HAVE to play the entire level again just to have another shot at the boss, don't fucking include it. Or shove it into a Bonus Set.

Enter the shop, then immediately leave without even bringing up the shop menu.
Don't remember how exactly that goes but you should be able to get it.

I had full health, full weapon energy, 9 lives, 4 e-tanks, 4 w-tanks, an s-tank, all 8 plates, the energy balancer, and I hadn't continued or even died once. No 'Perfect File' trigger. Do I need the buster upgrade too?

Mastered! Finally a good GB Mega Man xD I had a better time playing it compared to the previous 3 GB titles. The jumping and sliding controls were tweaked, getting closer to the way the NES games respond. The charged buster recoil is weird, but it wasn't too bad once I got used to it. The levels felt more inspired in their mechanics, and not overly long. The shop system is neat to have: I could stock up on lives to avoid having to replay the levels. And there are a few short cutscenes that were honestly really cool xD The set needs a revision, but I still recommend this game!
