One of the best shmup of the 16 Bits era ! A good gameplay with good level design for a progressive difficulty in normal who place this game so high on the top list ! Everybody can play it and have fun ! Made the 1CC is not too difficult in normal

With some pratice ! But in Hard is very difficult ! I have buy a japanese exemplar of this game ... it is a good collector now on physics cartrigde ! The Genesis version is beautifull with his cover ! A great game on MD with ThunderForce 4 !

The red miniboss on Hard in 7th stage is PAINFUL with those following missiles, good game tho. Nice to see a shooter with more variety of weapons and stuff.

Kinda meh about this one. Overall aesthetic is a touch garish and generally not that pleasing for me. The game does have great readability, which is its strongest aspect, but it's also kinda unmemorable - especially the bosses and sub bosses, some of which are dull to deal with depending on your weapons situation. It's not grindy but it's all a bit uninspired.

It's really hard for me to judge how good the game really is, because shmups are a pretty foreign genre to me, and honestly I think I played most of the game blatantly incorrectly.
The instructions manual for controls was misleading, which led me to not actually realize you need to actually USE the power-ups, except for the shield, and so I beat the game without.
It also took me until stage 5 on Hard Mode to realize you can change speeds... and somewhere down the line, I had accidentally lowered my speed to the lowest setting, making dodging missile almost literally impossible.

The game also suffers(?) from bad Gradius Syndrome, as I've learned it's called, which for me isn't a very enjoyable thing. It incentivizes restarting and accumulating skills over time, when I'd prefer to just hammer away at a specific stage until I get through it, which is what I did up until stage 6 on Hard Mode. At that point my skills reach a reasonable ceiling, and frankly, even going from the start of the game, I can't accumulate upgrades. I ended up taking the easy way out, and just stacked 80+ lives from the stage 2 miniboss.
From there, skill did not play a huge part.

That said, the game looks really nice and has some standout designs, and the soundtrack is very Genesis "nice to listen to, but not memorable" kind of deal.

On the achievements front, it feels a bit silly to have score achievements that cap at 20 million when just defeating the final enemy gives you 100m+.
I'm also not sure why there's an achievement to beat the game AND beating stage 7, as those are the same thing.
Imagine being so bad at the game that getting 20 Options is the last you unlock, couldn't be me.

Really liked the game and the set, the visuals and music was absolutely banging, and I feel the gameplay was solid as well. New to the genre so can't say much else.
Highly suggestable set!
