Hold down the L1 shoulder button to bring up the 1st player numpad overlay, then highlight 1-6 to choose difficulty and press either A/B/X/Y to make your choice.

My Vali the Avenger is falling going up the screen instead of walking the complete bridge... did I get the wrong rom or something?

So far Goddess is Pleased, Goddess is Impressed, Built Brisky, Crossed Cautiously and Long Live Vali are all not working.... maybe there is another thing?

You know what, it seems there were changes to the core that scrambled the memory. I'm gonna have to remap the RAM. Sorry about this.

No problem, scrambling memory is not a dev's fault .... just tell me when I can put my iceberg bridge making to the ultimate test, level 6 under 2:30 and no parts lost

Sorry, are you sure you were starting on difficulty 6? I'll investigate to see if I can replicate the problem.
