yeah english version would be great. There are 3 versions:

- "Densetsu no Stafy (English)"
uses original names for characters (romaji, honorifics, etc)
- "The Legendary Starfy"
uses translated, or fan made names for characters.
- "The Legendary Starfy Origins"
same translation as above, except the title screen says "Origins". This is because the fifth game was already localized as "The Legendary Starfy".

Thank you so much for this set, I really appreciate the work put into it, but man is it killing me playing it without the translation patch. It's doable but I'd love to follow the story and not have to look up guides for what I'm supposed to do.

What's the best place to farm for Pearls in this? Getting to 9999 pearls sounds like massive chore.

Sea of Ice - go to the area with the blobfish, bottom-left of the starting area, grab the pearls, repeat. Should net you ~100 in less than a minute. Still tedious, but regrettably 9999 pearls is an in-game requirement for 100% (gives you the last picture, which is tracked on the save select screen)

One more thing, don't play the hard mode minigames in the menus, do them in the levels. You have to beat each levels minigame on hard to access new areas for the book. Now I have to do that crappy Billiards game again.

Also thanks Doomhiker, just encountered that area myself and it looked good. Still really tedious though, I suggest for future players to playthrough the game as much as you can and then when you got everything you can go back and grind for 9999 Pearls.

And Mastered! The legendary Starfy was a great game to play a decade and a half ago and so I was glad I got the experience playing the original game! They did a REALLY good job of hiding the fact that Starfy had older games prior to the 5th one, its as if they made it for an international audience in mind!

As for the game itself, its what I would expect out of Starfy. Most of the familiar moves are there besides a small few. The story is simpler too, go into a new level and solve the problems there before moving on to the next one. The main villain doesn't have much of a personality besides being a cliche villain who does things for fun. The biggest surprise was Moe himself who acts completely different from the one we got, here he acts like a selfish jerk for most of the game.

The weirdest thing playing this is just how many enemies there are in this game when most of them only appear in one room, its like they had all these ideas for foes but wanted to use them all. Many of the enemies act the same only with a different sprite.

The translation is really good and well worth the wait. I only encountered 3 issues with it playing, the wrong color font being used in the final cutscenes, the word "Resistance" being misspelt in the cutscene with the frog who gives the Ultra Star Spin, and Dolfy the Dolphin being mistakenly referred to as Moe in one scene. But other than that the translations been perfect.
