Collector achievements, like all souls, can be done in NG+. Generally in the Castlevania series the NG + only prevents achievements related to boss battles, or any battle challenge

To whoever wasked about Soma w_o thing, it just means "Defeat the boss as Soma without taking damage" w_o is just without.

Mastered! Soul grinding in this game isn't fun, but the boss achievements were fun to do (except maybe Menace). I wish there were thematic boss challenges like in Aria of Sorrow, but I understand how doing those in this game would be relatively impractical (bad drop rates)

If you want more specific challenges my advice - give a try Dawn of Dissonance. I think you will enjoy it.As for the set for Dawn of Sorrow, it was one of the first sets on DS, so to speak, a pen test. I also think that this set could be lot better, if I were creating it now, I would change and add a lot of things. Unfortunately, if I change it now, a lot of people will be unhappy. So it is what it is.

Mastered! If you want to get all souls, just know that having more than 33 luck is useless because the stat is bugged. Use the equip slots for things that enable you to kill the desired enemy quicker. The quicker you kill them, the quicker you will get their soul. Soul Eater Ring does still work as it should, doubling the soul drop rates, so you should still very much use it. Good luck.

Because no achievements are marked with (M) can someone help me to understand what to look out for? From what I can see, just check before each boss fight, is that it?

Also remember the achievement "The Dark Lord Returns" which you need to make before the game proceeds. Also remember not to sell any unique items and don't use rare souls to craft, as this can make you lose achiviement needs souls. Leave the crafting special weapons achievements for last, or: craft, unlock the achievement and then load your game again to save your soul.

Just to make it clear. Dark Lord Returns marked as missable. Unique items no longer missable and you can sell them if you want that why no [m] mark. And about crafting special weapon - you need to beat game 2 times anyway, so technically they not missable if only you will try hard to miss them.
