51st Master. I grew up with this version of DKC and it's such a nostalgic feeling of playing this over again. The only hard achievement to get is the Master Fisher one because the fishing game is random and you have to be lucky get to get to level 8.

Tip for anyone playing, if youre having trouble with jumping on tires, hold down the jump button. I wish i'd have known this sooner...

I've never been good at DKC, and I think this plays just as good if not better than DKLand. The problem is I have no idea how to 100% this as I've never done it before lol

Mastered! My 91st Award and the 46th Master for the Game. Love the Original, love DKL, liked this version as a kid. But now i see the difficulties because of the GBC Hardware, that makes it way less fun. But thanks for the Set!

Dear god what happened? This game somehow controls like Donkey Kong Land 1. Land 2 and 3 had the controls down great and suddenly its back to being bad like Land 1

Welp I've mastered the entire Country trilogy on SNES and the Land Trilogy on gameboy. But 1 achievement in this set may make the entire journey end. God damn Funky Fishing with its 20 minute setup of mostly skill switching to mostly luck right at the end.

Mastered! As someone that has never played this version of the game before, going back to it sure is rough. While I'm sure it must have been very impressive to get the game onto the GBC (and with exclusive content to boot!), I don;t think the sacrifices made were worth it. Oh well, I'm glad I've experienced it even though I think it's by far the worst version of DKC1.

I am incredibly grateful that it took me three attempts to reach level 8 in Funky Fishing. The early levels are so boring, and it takes so long to get to levels 6 and 7 where it starts to get challenging.

I was surprised that this even was possible / exists. After all this gives you the whole donkey kong country on GBC. Which is kinda fascinating.

It reminds me of these deports from snes games to nes.

I understand the people complaining about the controls. I know these levels by heart from my childhood and can easy play from the SNES version without trouble.

But this version oh boy. Two of the biggest enemies here:
- tires. They feel like they only want to bounce you sometimes.
- Hit detection. Sometimes you just die even if you jump correct on something.

I found it especially painful that you have to go three times through the game. But I was so glad there was no speed run cheevo here.

Funky fishing was kinda funny to play. It took only few tries with rng to beat it.

This is an amazing port of a SNES game on the GBC.

But I don't know why you'd want to play a SNES game on the GBC in 2024.
