No, there aren't. However, the map being displayed on the left and working all the time is such a blessing compared to what there is in the SNES version.

I feel like there should be a "fan achievement" called "Genesis Does" that is simply for beating the game (despite [or rather, because of] the minor map radar difference) that should be added for superfans.

There are map differences (different item locations) and a lack of the flamethrower which is used in most guides for beating the game.
