Mastered! Another fantastic hack! This is up there with Hyper Metroid and Ascent in terms of visuals and gameplay. The map layout is based around vanilla, with lots of cool new rooms and shortcuts. A few points of advice for anyone who wants to master this:

1. When you bomb jump, you'll glow for a second; this is actually you being in speed booster mode. If you press the jump button to uncurl out of it, you can actually maintain it while running and even use a shinepark. This is key for several achievements. Make sure to hold run the whole time and that the direction you face before you morph is the same as the way you move when exiting out of the bomb jump. It sounds confusing, and it really was to me until I figured it out with lots of trial and error, but it's very useful once you get it down.

2. The outside door to Gravity Suit seems like it's just unlocked all of the time for some reason. It starts flashing, which indicates that something unlocks it, but I couldn't tell you what, I got to it without killing any bosses or minibosses. As a result, you can get it as soon as you can get to that door which is not too hard to do with a shinespark (and power bombs to open a door ahead of it).

3. Diagonal bomb jumping sends you flying and also has speed booster properties, which is also key for several of the achievements and is just really fun in general when you're not doing it accidentally.

Wow, I didn't know about that 1st one. I noticed bomb jumping made Samus invincible like Speed Booster, but I didn't know it could charge a shinespark too. Does that require the Speed Booster item to work? I can confirm I didn't need to do that trick for anything, so I wouldn't really say it's key for mastering this set. Anyway, thanks for the helpful tips!

It doesn't require Speed Booster, which makes it incredibly useful early on. I thought it was required for getting Super Missiles before Spore Spawn (I'm not sure why I said "key for several achievements" in the first comment, I just meant that one, but it can help a lot with others); how did you get those Super Missiles early if you didn't do that?

I couldn't actually get myself to Shinespark to the missle but I was able to hold the Speed Booster momentum up from some basic bomb jumping.

Yeah, I just damage-boosted off the nearby enemy, breaking that crumble block with a mid-air backflip and reaching that pack of supers from below ^^
So this means I didn't have to do all of those bomb jump sequences I did: early Spring Ball, early Phantoon, early Plasma Beam, damageless Wrecked Ship E-tank and so on. That trick is a lot more useful than I thought!

GG Mastered, the worst part of it was learning Meteorball but when you got the hang of it the new mechanic helps a TON in this game.

as someone who never played the original and tried this for aotw, its way too hard, the shinespark-bomb-speedboost thing is way too jank and walljumps are just impossible, resulting in me getting stuck in maridia cause i cant go back up out to where i came and enemies there just two-hit me plus falling in water anytime means i cant ever get out again... zzz

Neat hack but I've gotten Samus stuck in geometry a few times. Bomb jumping has never been easier, my aging thumbs appreciate that.

@lorderbs If you never played the original then you should play it, and see how much harder than this hack it is to reach Phantoom area .
I mean, if you want to get Gravity Suit fast in SM first you need to do the mockball trick to get early supers and do the spore spawn skip to get another 5 supers, then you climb red tower without ice beam just walljumping/bomb jumping which is extremely hard to learn, and if that's not enough you still need to do a complex almost frame perfect jump to reach wrecked ship, and beat phantoom with almost nothing to use against him... And here you just fight spore spawn, get supers, bomb jump in red tower, pick power bomb, just put a bomb and press a frame to right and then you bomb jump again underwater (possible) to get gravity suit without even fighting phantoom.

^bruh what 😂 I thought it was pretty hard too, might not even get AotW in time, but I've really grown to like it and will def master one day. I think what makes it really difficult is the lack of guides to follow. I messed up the sequence somehow by getting somewhere I wasn't supposed to get to and now I'm jumping around from room to room without what I presume is a grappling hook?
