Not close, the only better was the doomsday level. Everything else is worse, the platformers are a thousand times more difficult than the genesis and the splashmore keeps throwing enemies after enemies that is impossible to survive because is imposible to react to them.

I beat every level during development, and beat every achievement myself testing and verifying proper triggering, sure they aren't easy, I won't say it's an easy game, and may only appeal to some gamers, but they are doable with practice, and you may need a bit of luck on some, like splashmoor, but it is not impossible. I really enjoyed playing it during development, it was a challenge to overcome, but after several hours of playing each level, I was able to do quite a bit better, and isnt that the point of games? A game without challenge is boring, unless it has a great storyline, but the snes was also an Era where storylines in video games weren't complex, they were generally very badic, and the draw to most games was the challenge and gameplay. I won't fault you if you don't enjoy the game, I've been there and dealt with games I didn't enjoy due to the same issue, and i probably would of given up on this game had i not been doing achievements for it, but boy was it an amazing feeling of accomplishment when I was able to beat the whole game in one run, I can say the sense of accomplishment I got from beating this game far surpasses the feeling of accomplishment I felt from beating most modern games. I do not regret spending days practicing and playing this game for development and testing, it definitely made me rethink other games I quit due to the feeling it was "impossible"

Well said. I had the same experience with Bart vs the Space Mutants recently. I avoided that set because I thought it was well above my skill level, but grinding it out and getting the mastery felt like an actual accomplishment instead of simply gaining meaningless points. I couldn't constantly play challenging games one after another - I need a palate-cleanser from time to time - but much like yourself I'm now looking at sets I previously had stayed away from because of their difficulty. Plus this game kicked my ass when I was a child so it's time for revenge.

I don't disagree with many of the achievements in this set but Cowabunga seems needlessly cruel without pause buffering
