Sounds like you need to download the PSP core system files. In Retroarch go Main Menu->online updater->core system files downloader->PPSSPP.zip

That downloads generic fonts and such that are used in a wide variety of PSP titles.

Thanks, it's my first PSP so I didn't know. I had to download and install them manually though as I have the steam version of retroarch, https://docs.libretro.com/library/ppsspp/ showhow to do it for future reference.

Mastered, it's finally over, wanted to get this done yesterday for Teto's birthday as I thought it would be funny, but ah well you can't control the random drops. Final Miku Miku Count: 546

Going into this as a complete rhythm game noob I never thought I would end up mastering this, I started off really poorly but I surprised myself by how much I improved over just a few days (didn't expect most the difficulty to come from just grinding the drops lol), not quite sure if I'm particularly good enough to tackle the perfect subset just yet though.

Anyways Miku forever in my heart.

Is anyone else having an issue saving? I save the game, and when I come back, everything is gone. I tried both the original Japanese version, and the English translation version, but the issue persists in both of them

The game wasn't designed to be automatically saved (for some reason) so you will have to manually save your progress from the main menu each time. The later games in the series (2nd and Extend) save progress automatically.

Are you playing on ppsspp? I know I had an issue with most of the save assets not appearing for me when I first started playing psp games, turns out you need to download the ppsspp assets folder from github and put it in/make a folder called ppsspp in your retroarch system folder, that could possibly be your issue

Mastered! This took me way too long, almost half of my play time was dedicated to getting the last few items. The RNG element of unlocking items is definitely the worst part of the entire set (not the fault of the cheevo dev, I hope that whichever SEGA employee decided to have item unlock be RNG stubs their toe). Overall though, I loved the rest of the achievements.

Good luck to everyone else grinding out those items, just keep at it and you'll get it eventually.

Mastered, the goal to master all DIVA achievement sets has begun.

The items will definitely take up most of your time on this game, but please don't give up, it's a slog however everyone can do it given enough attempts so keep at it and good luck!

As of this post, I am only 2 Items away from Mastery, and I hope the sequels address this "Room Item" grind, because holy crap I feel like I'm going to have Miku Miku Shell Shock (For Reals).

Don't worry, the sequels only require you to complete certain requirements to purchase the cosmetics. No grinding songs until you get it.

Just do a smaller amount of attempts per day, so that you don't burn yourself out.

Mastered! The miku miku grind was an absolute slog but outside of that i enjoyed the game and the set, cant wait to play the second since it seems like a big upgrade from the first

I highly recommend that you don't just grind Miku-Miku You and instead make a habit of playing through all the game's songs once every few days or something like that. Grinding the one song drove me absolutely insane, whereas just playing through the game casually when I felt like it eventually got it finished. If I kept that grind I was gonna quit this forever, lol.
