Wow, this one's definitely as hard as I remember. Maybe even harder. All the hours spent on this as a kid and I still don't think I ever beat it. Maybe one day.

I had a blast going through this. Thank you for the set. Something of note I should probably throw out there, I popped "Can't believe Pepper has to test us!!" after hitting 97 rings as opposed to 100, but went on until I got 104. For anyone having trouble with achievements related to the team scoring kills, I got them after some trial, error and resets- stick to the first route for those three achievements, I wasn't able to get them to work on route two or three.

Mastered (Hardcore)! Was a really fun challenge to playthrough and still is a really great game and a rather brutal one at that. However, that said the Great Commander has given me so many issues apart from the challenge it presented. Also, do not go into FPS mode when the camera is turning otherwise you will soft lock yourself and have to force a reset during the battle, thus ending the run (v1.0)

I think the "Complete X stage" achievements should have been named after the boss you get to fight in that stage. The bosses are a huge part of what the game is about, and the achievement's names could have had more character if they were related to them. Other than that, this is pretty much what I would've expected for StarFox. A flawed yet fun game, with a rather steep difficulty curve.

11th master. This was a fun trip down memory lane! I kind of like 64 better, but this one’s surely got the cooler music and atmosphere. I probably won’t take the hard route again due to the Great Commander which gave me lots of trouble. Surprised I beat Andross’s hard variation (bull form) with a single laser and 3/4s of a health bar on my last life on the first try. Don’t know how I did it. Guess I was lucky.

Fox McCloud triumphs III is bugged, just beat the route 3 after lots of trouble and the achievement didn´t pop up, didn´t use black hole or anything, only thing is that i lost a life vs andross and then beat him next try when i respawn just before the last battle

was using snes9x, didn´t had any trouble before that achievement to boot, the fact it was like one of the hardest ones really sucks

Tried again and Fox McCloud triumphs III actually got unlocked, but i was using Mesen-S instead of snes9x like before, so just in case better use Mesen-S when you want to beat route 3 (beating that hellish route without savestates is really hard, so managing to do it and not get the achievement is awful, yeah better avoid using snes9x )

Mastered! I have beaten this game before in the past, and ill say this was a pretty brutal revisit. Particularly route 2 and 3 just curb stomped me into the ground quite a few times. The stage 5 boss of route 2 especially. It felt like if i didn't have laser upgrades for that one, I might as well just reset the run. Route 3 was just super difficult all around especially the Great Commander fights, and Venom 7 itself. Otherwise i still love Star Fox and its quite a great game. Great set overall, I love the achievement names too.

Mastered. Oh boy, this set is from the old times and it shows. Odd inclusions, conspicuous exclusions, and quite a few bugs. I hope someone can come and give this one some love one of these days. The (apparently new) icons are great, now we just need logic to match.

As for the game itself, well, it's no wonder everyone nostalgic for Star Fox talks about the N64 one. The controls here are heavy and laggy, and it's hard to eyeball where things are and whether or not they're about to collide with you with the low framerate and no depth perception. The experience improves once you start to figure out how to manoeuvre around hazards, but by the time I got that far I was most of the way done with the set. Now, this would rule with a better framerate and more responsive controls, and maybe some voice-acted one-liners. And so... yeah.
