I also am not getting the extra puzzles opening. Have completed all the original puzzles, ie showing all stars and all certificates seen. Happy to understand what to do if anyone knows. I'd wager all the puzzles are logically solvable, although the professional puzzles were slow and had me using some new methods I hadn't tried before. I think it was only puzzle K which I got (logically) stuck on and had to make a guess or two.

Yes, everything is solvable despite what some people here have said. It gets easier the more you learn the higher level techniques and can recognize visual patterns. Really, it's just something that will take time and can't be achieved from beating only one game.

After you've singled out all the dots that can be found from "shifting ends" on lines with high numbers, you can start to guess where the bigger numbers should go - then you have to crosscheck those numbers on the opposite axis to confirm if they will work or not. If not, erase. If so, continue. This works really well in the corners that may hide large numbers. In the end, just count all the dots and mark the numbers red while searching for the discrepancies.

Mastery #4 fun and chill game. Got an small guide and well. That make it an little bit easy. To be honest with guide its really an 1/10 without probally around 4/10

Mastery #3. Extra puzzles I and K were the two most difficult in the game IMO, I in particular. Not only did you have to use edge logic (something I didn't have to use until one of the professional puzzles), but you had to build it out across several steps before you found the impossibility and thus could eliminate the square. I had to break down a bit on I and watch part of a LP before I understood what they were doing to eliminate spaces, and that helped me get unstuck.

Mastered! Phew!! Took me a while but got there in the end! 10h50. Not sure if I've got the patience for another 7 of them though. It was fun though tbf, although the Extra mode definitely was unnecessarily hard in places :| ended up using google to translate some of the larger pictures data, some nice descriptions/interesting lore :)

Mastery #3, eventually managed without any hints or guides! It took me until extra puzzle I to figure out that there's a ? mode where you can do possible moves in a different colour though

Expected my first SNES game to be something else (like Earthbound), but what do you know, picross is too addicting. My mom used to solve them all the time when I was a kid, so I had an easier time getting into it since I already know most of the techniques.
Definitely need a break after this one, but I'll probably do more picross in the future. Oh and I finally had to use my N3 Japanese lmao.
