About to throw the towel on the Full Item collection achievement, missing 1 item and i have no idea where to look since all the previous locations items were gathered. I was wondering if it was a post-game item or maybe a missable one.

PSP version lacks 1 item over the DS version so if you're using a DS guide that might be why. I'd check the total items achievement and then add up the areas you've yet to do if any. Maybe absolutely sure you're not quitting over an item you aren't missing.

Finally Mastered although I'm working on the subset at the same time so I took longer. Onion Gauntlets took ages to drop just once. By the time 1 dropped I had at least 4 copies of everything else, even swords!

@RossWyatt this version was a remake for the Nintendo DS. It was ported to PSP on the PSN and never got a physical release.
The original FFIII in 2D didn't make it to North America until the Pixel Remasters a couple years ago.

don't be dumb like me looking for dragons in the tower. the encounter rate was so damn low i ended up going from 80 something to 99 before i finally got the red dragon's armor.

1st RPG mastered, was challenging at times, but a lot of fun, i recommend grinding dragons in the iron giant dungeon i did it from 66 to 99 lol.

Yes there are missables. If you're asking you might not be familiar with the game so I don't want to spoil things so I'll keep things vague.

Collect All Items in Castle Hein is definitely one because once you complete that part of the game you can never return so be sure to have a save file during that segment.

The bestiary also contains missable enemies most notably in the water after a certain point.

By extension the 100% bestiary and 100% treasure ones will also be missable. If you intend to master this first try, I recommend a guide likely on gamefaq. Keep in mind though, that the PSP version is different to the DS version in that there is one less treasure chest in the PSP version I think so when a guide says 40% but you only have 39%, that will be why. It's probably not a well known fact as you'd expect the remake to be the same on both versions. The Onion Knight job class is another example as the DS has local network while the PSP didn't.

Recommend Seferaga's guide. It's DS so this is where the discrepancy on the treasure chests comes in. When it's better to visit this guy that tracks how many chests you've opened (later also from a moogle on a ship) and get all the achievements for chests for a single area as you go.

For those of you who mentioned missing an item despite having all the other item achievements covered, did you ever find which one it was? Because I just ran into the same issue. Every single area with items have been awarded an achievement and yet I'm one item short.

there is a missable item back when you find the prince, there's one in the center island thing to talk to as well as the guy looking for the prince.

No I can't recall the exact item, but I do recall it happening at 40% of all chests found according to a guide but I had 39%. That's the best I can offer really but I can't recall which guide now.
