Pretty annoying there are so many misssable achievements not marked. I'm on the last race and didn't see the drift hardmode highscore, so now I miss out, have to start the game over to get it

I believe the drift score leaderboard is broken, however a very nice set IF you play on hard from the beginning! Don't make the mistake of picking easy or medium!

Which drift score leaderboard? They all have a lot of submissions and nothing seems amiss at first glance. I will need specifics if I am going to be able to fix it.

It is accurate as far as ranking goes it seems, however the score is displayed as time, which I suppose is an understandable limitation.

41st master. Thank you, TeddyWestside, for the excellent set. I've played this game since I was 5 years old, and mastering it feels like an accolade of adulthood.

I've mentioned in the forum it would be quite nice if we could get a hash for a 60fps WITH widescreen patched version. Unfortunately PCSX2 built in patch does not support the different CRC of current 60fps patch.

Never had played this one to completion before - me and my dad only got a Xbox after NFSU2 was already out, so we never really had any interest into it. Quite easy, although the catch-up mechanics are really infuriating sometimes. The "Devilish Drifter" cheevo is on a totally different league though, glad it got corrected to 25 points.

Nonetheless, thank you for the amazingly fun set, TeddyWestside! It was definitely a very complete, fun one.

Really focus on getting magazines 16-19 as soon as possible. They have stupidly precise requirements, I realized I don't have them on race 110 and it was already too late.

With how broken Perfect Shifting is, Still A Buster shouldn't be on Hard difficulty, it's practically RNG to have all 6 perfect shifts with the cars fast enough to beat on hard

what do you mean broken? Sure it's not easy but it's far from RNG. Try different cars, they have different gear ratios. Technically doing this in the slowest straightline car should be the easiest

Mastered! Spent about 28 hours of gametime on this.

Playing every race in this game's story mode on hard really made me realize the comments weren't kidding about the AI blatantly cheating, god damn. This game demands near perfection of your driving abilities.

The most difficult achievements on this set are definitely the drifting ones for me, especially Devilish Drifter is a doozy.
Definitely recommend this set if you like a challenge!

Mastered! What an awesome set! First time playing the PS2 version of this classic myself, but I had a blast reliving this one with achievement support. I feel the magazines' achievement should be marked as missable so that other players are aware.

Other than that, it was a reasonably challenging set. I'm going to echo the comments of others here and say that the AI really goes wild on Hard difficulty on those latter races. They're still beatable with enough practice and steady driving skills, though.

The two most difficult achievements for me were Devilish Drifter (I had no idea back then that that particular magazine had such a crazy unlock requirement) and Still a Buster (it's tough getting those perfect shifts right and still winning the race against Hard AI opponents).

For the Devilish Drifter one, I was originally using my Mazda MX-5, which is pretty good at drifting, but found it a bit finicky to keep the score going. Once I changed to the Eclipse and used some Stock tires, things became more manageable for me. I also found some of the heavier cars, such as the Lancer and the Sentra, could be potential candidates for those struggling to get this achievement. Now, if you find those still a bit unwieldy, stick to the good drifters (Eclipse, Integra, RX-7, MX-5).

For Still a Buster, I stuck to my Mazda MX-5 and did it on Highway 1 Reverse with Medium traffic. Figured that, although the MX-5 lacks max speed, I could still have a chance so long as the AI crashed with the traffic cars.

Mastery #31! Did the whole career with the Golf on Hard (except getting Magazine 22, which I used the RX-7 for.)

The drift cheevos were definitely the hardest thing here. Probably took up about a third of my play time at least trying to master the drifting mechanics. I found the MX-5 worked very well as a drift car.

It's been many years since I played through this game. Loved stomping through it again, a classic from my childhood. I think I can appreciate the game's quality more now as an adult, it's really fantastic.

Boy, it would be an honor to spend hours playing NFS Carbon, Under 1, Under 2, Most Wanted 2005 on PS2 to win trophies but because my PS2 emulator can't handle these 4 games, extremely low FPS... I'll play it in the future and it's for real
