Second Mastery! Great set!

Harder than the THPS3 set, but much more fun to do.

FYI, the Moon Gravity Cheat is unlocked through the options menu, using code "superfly". I was a bit lost thinking it was one of the cheats you buy with cash.

Where the gaps were noticeably easier than THPS games that preceded this, the challenge was made up for in some of the missions. FK Bam's shopping cart hahahaha

I still love Sim Mode for its intensity.

Master #2. Can't believe this is the THPS I'd played the least of as a kid, although I'm fairly glad I did miss out on this as a youngster, or I don't imagine my PS2 would have lived as long as it has. The usual suspect missions did give me some trouble, but "shout out" to the rat mission on Shipyard for completely filtering me for an evening - I never see this one mentioned among the hardest goals so not sure why it got me so tilted!

Some tips for the harder portions off the top of my head:

-It seems backwards, but sometimes you don't want max stats (speed is a big culprit of this) - if you're really struggling with certain goals or gaps, try lowering it to a 7 first and then get a bit lower if needed. This made the long manual goals and gaps a lot more bearable

-Speaking of manuals, make sure you're holding your ollie button while you manual to keep speed. I somehow luckily managed to figure this out as a kid but it seems to not be as common knowledge as I assumed

-For the Kona hut flip, I ultimately found it to be easier without boneless-ing

-Finally, fuck Carnival in particular! No specific tips here apart from maybe leave Carnival for a day where you're in a good mood

Overall really enjoyed this one - don't think I'll ever go for 100% again on replays, but I'd definitely replay the "main" story now and then

mastered! this game is hard, i've played from thps 1 to thug 2, by far the most difficult one between these games lol
but despite everything, it's so underrated which is unfortunate... thps 4 deserves more love!

hey, huge tip for all of you that had the same issue as me. i've already made it to 100% on the PC version, but now as i'm replaying, i noticed that the balance meter was really unfair and was bailing me really quickly. I figured that it was because the emulator was clocked at 130%, so be sure to play at normal clock speed, that fixed it for me at least

MASTERED!!! What a fantastic set. This is my second time 100% this game and oh boy, it is the hardest Tony Hawk game, but what a great game. I was looking forward for the challenges here, like the Post-Game ones and the Single Session which were pretty fun and a very nice addition. Thank you for this!

Yes it is often a good idea to mess with the analog sensitivity from time to time, especially in all the Tony games.

This is my favorite game of all time this had to be my first master for retroachievements. and what better way to get excited for thps3+4 than to go for this.

Whoops, that was ridiculously easy. I actually remembered THPS4 being harder, but even with the little bonus challenges, this was an absolute walk in the park.

11 hours for the mastery left me a bit sad—I was hoping to get more out of this amazing game. Compared to the 16 hours I spent on the THPS3 mastery, this felt pretty underwhelming, and I didn’t even have to do all the gaps for that one. I was genuinely surprised by how easy and smooth the gaps in THPS4 were. I mean, I’m not complaining—I’m not really a fan of “All Gaps” achievements (looking at you, THPS2 on PS1), but I still expected more of a challenge.

Overall, it’s a fantastic set. I’ve never really been motivated to collect all the gaps and cash before, so finally getting THPS4 to an absolute 100% was really satisfying—just didn’t expect it to take less than 12 hours.

Still, thanks for the amazing set!
