I don't plan to play this game right now, but can you give some advice to how to tackle this set (like how many playthroughs, and what achievements to get in each playthrough). And are there level select for the speedrun portions of the set. Thanks in advance.

Hi! I'd be happy to share my recommendation. I'd start with just the difficulty play through. Just get through the game and collect as many items and get familiar with the bosses and battle system. There are only 2 missable collectibles on a full play through (the armor on stage 4 and armor on stage 7). That'll unlock all the progression achievements (and maybe one or two others). After that, tackle the stage specific challenges - for these passwords are allowed and many of them don't have difficulty restrictions (except the collectible ones and a few others). For the boss challenges, attempt as many on easy difficulty as you can because that'll give you the most retries (8-9 per run) and you can just start at the beginning of the start, so it's not too bad. Lastly, I'd tackle the full game challenges as your skill level will be at the highest for them.
