Update:
- Demoted Room item achievements, apparently you can't progress in the story unless you beat the board's host minigame and get the present for each board, so the Constellation and Room achievements were redundant
- Following that, upgraded Constellation (Beat Story Mode) achievements from 10pts to 25pts (was about to leave them at 10pts but you need like 6hrs to complete all the boards even on Easy)
- Changed the single board achievements to require Expert difficulty instead of Hard. You also need to do them on Party mode
- Changed "You are the Party Star" from "Complete an Expert Board" to "Complete Story on Hard" which is basically "Unlock Expert mode"
- Note that if you already unlocked Expert mode I've added some alts so you can complete Story Mode on Hard with a character you haven't gotten all of their room items and still get the achievement
- Waluigi Time now must be done on Party mode cause Story Mode breaks all my logic due to the memory not clearing after each board x.x
- Fixed 2vs2 achievement, was missing the Cheep Cheep minigame
- Something else I can't remember so let's just say "Enhanced set stability to improve user experience"

I don't think so, Story mode is 1P only and for Party mode most achievements check that the other 3 players are CPUs in a certain difficulty so nobody can win by placing other 3 controlled opponents that play poorly.
However, there are certain achievements that may work with coop, mostly the unlocks of minigames and the special room gifts

Mastery #512: Expert CPUs weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting. The real challenge of the set is Bob-omb X-ing. If you can pull that off, the rest of the set is pretty easy aside from some of the other bonus mini-games. Thanks for the set lordpsycho!

Agree, was expecting Expert to be brutal almost perfect play from the CPU but was notified it wasn't that bad so I moved all those points to the Extra minigames stars.

Missed opportunity to have cheevos for playing the mini mini-games and other interactions with the boards. But what's crazier is beating 5 of the 6 boards and the only minigame I haven't unlocked is MY FAVORITE ONE. I want to play Jigsaw Jitters :(

A tip for story mode: Do not cancel out of a board and select start a new game if the odds aren't in your favor. Getting 5 room items for a character does not mean that the story mode is complete, take the loss and try again

I feel a sort of sadness about how we'll have a hundred-some people all playing the Single-Player mode of Mario Party for the Thanksgiving event. I mean, there's something seriously wrong with directing my ire towards a CPU and not an actual human being.

Nonetheless. May fortune shine on your ape. May your hairy ancestors protect you from the calamities of Fortune Spaces.

Is there any rule against loading a save at the start of a turn if something goes wrong? It feels kind of cheap but it is explicitly prevented against in some achievements and not others… If there’s not, you can always just reset the emulator if something goes really wrong on a turn like a bad Fortune Space and then just reload the save made at the start of the turn.

Getting closer to mastering this, this is one of the easier Mario Party sets. Pro tip for others, you can't do 10 turns on the Expert CPU challenges, this is not stated on the descriptions themselves.

You can do 10 turns for expert CPU challenges.
And now that a lot of people are playing this for the AotM I'll just ask for a little favor:
If you try to make one of those, make a save state after the last turn, before the winner is announced.
There's a nasty bug that will make those not work for some people but idk what it is, may require to play some hours in a row.
If you can manage to get a save state where these achievements don't trigger I might be able to solve the issue

For me; Goomba, Shy Guy, Boo, and Koopa boards worked with 10 turns but Toad's and Bowser's required me to do 15 turns each. Weird. Not sure if other people's experience were different.

Mastered! Good lord I always thought MP4 was the weakest of the GC Mario Parties and this set did not help that image although I cannot blame psycho for it. This game is a downgrade from Mario Party 3. The item system is worse, the boards are worse with annoying movement impeding obstacles, less minigames, terrible AI, etc. I do give credit that some of the minigames here are some of the most memorable in the series but man there's just way too few of them and the 1v3s are possibly the worst in the franchise with 1 and 3. But the worst thing about MP4 is that you need to play story mode 8 times to get everything, so you gotta play 48 total boards. MP is not a fun game to play solo and the story mode is an example as to why. It's no wonder they completely revamped it in 5 and onward.

The real challenge of the set will come from the bonus minigames and heck I think 80% of the challenge comes from them. This isn't a set meant for the impatient lol.
