Mastered. First subset I've ever done, and I would say this was quite enjoyable. The grind wasn't too bad, so long as your emulator supports fast-forwarding. Beat the subset in 19h real-time, and a kinda nuts 210h in-game time (that partly because I was fast-forwarding at like, 100x speed even in menus, which burned through in-game time).

Playing Pokémon Yellow again was incredible! This subset is tough and challenging until you defeat Misty with the 50 available Pokémon without the Cascade Badge. It definitely requires a lot of XP farming and plenty of luck at the Game Corner.

Still, it's a really fun subset!

First subset mastered.

Had to do a separate save on a different GBA Core on RetroArch as several achievements didn't unlock due to site maintenance that I was unaware of.

Other than that little hiccup, it was a rather interesting set, though Level Grinding (especially near the start) was super tedious at times.

Only change I'd wish for would be somehow letting players do Lt. Surge earlier as being able to use Fly would make travel less of a pain.

hey so i have the patched file, but it boots in to the gb start up and sound but stops there. i have tried multiple cores, i have my cores updated and retroarch is updated. not sure what i can do to fix this. has anyone gotten around this?

Disable the gb boot up, it just causes games to freeze normally. I think under core options it's something like "use official bootloader".

Yeah you called it, once I removed the boot up it started right up! I tried to have my handheld boot into the logo so I can have the full experience but it was stopping the game. Guess I’ll roll without it till I get the badge. Thanks for the help!

I'm guessing not. At least not for individual Pokedex entries.

I had opened a few entries during a time when RA's servers were undergoing maintenance, thus not receiving the achievements at the time.

When I recaptured the same Pokemon, the achievements didn't unlock as it appears their unlock criteria is based on the initial entry into the Pokedex during first capture/evolution/etc. I had to start a new game on a different Arch Core to get them without deleting my main save.

As for those that unlock by having a certain number caught before each Badge, I have no clue, though perhaps someone else may know.

Anyone have any idea why Gambatte can't get past the GB boot animation when loading up this game? RetroArch is recognizing this but I just can't get past the initial boot.
