This is a relatively easy set to get but you will suffer in the last two worlds. Be prepared for that.

How come there are more unlocks for the "Defeat Asura" than "Reach Act 6-3" achievement if the level select locks the achievements ? Any explaination on that ? I went to sleep and used it to get back on the game but I guess I assumed wrong ?

Not a great game in my opinion.The character is too close to the right of the screen,making it hard to see enemys and react,sometimes,they spawn in your face mid jump.When u get hit the character rolls back 3 km making u fall alot of times,this and enemy spawn in ur face make the game hard for wrong reasons.Also the level design not very good,specially ice stages,where ice enemy spawn in ur face mid jump and kill u cheap way...its decent game but not very good...Also ice physics are not very good..

Valis 1 is a pretty solid game, on the other hand while Valis 3 has some fun moments, I find it less solid than Valis 1.
although the 3 characters is a nice addition (especially cham), several levels have a serious balance problem, especially level 5, ice level and the final castle, many enemies appear in hard to reach areas and the battle with Glames is simply luck.
I'm glad I mastered it before a revision adds more achievements and just made it ridiculously hard to mastered.
I hope I never play the ice level ever again.
the only advice I can give for the ice level is that sliding and jumping are going to be your best friends, if you want to simply look in another direction press the crouch button.

Re-mastered! Worst ice level I've played in ANY game.

When going for the survivor/muggle/handicap challenges, you may want to split them up across 2 (maybe 3) playthroughs. Stacking the challenges is possible but very difficult.

Until this set is fixed (it's had open tickets since June), here's some advice if you're having issues with the act 5 challenge achievements not triggering.

Watch the active achievement icons carefully (by default they show up in the bottom right of the screen), as enemies and projectiles spawning in will temporarily deactivate them. However, if you transition to the next part of the level with them inactive, they will be permanently disabled until you level select back. For the first 3 sections, wait near the end until a flying enemy spawns and kill it to re-enable the active icons, then quickly transition to the next area. For the final section with the boss, kill the flying enemy where the stage dips down and back up, then quickly advance to the old man before another one can spawn.

For the no magic achievement, on top of doing the above, also make sure not to pick up a magic attack, as it appears the achievement can be disabled upon reaching phase 2 of the final boss regardless of if you used magic or not.

how to ruin a good set: put "no-death" achievements
Act 4 with no dying is HORRIBLE!
and finish act 5 with no power up vs Glames es very hard.

To the person responsible for putting those 2 specific achievements, let him know that I hate him. >: /
