I started with the French version and switched to the USA, Europe version due to not all achievements popping, particularly Blackjack and Double Up. I don't know if it's an issue with the set or if I didn't have the right settings set (e.g variations on Videopac and PAL). YMMV. With the USA, Europe version I set core options to Odyssey 2 (NTSC) and Auto region, and that did the trick.
