I've been watching projared's series, and while initially i wasn't too keen on trying this hack out myself, after a couple of weeks of watching him play this I gotta say i am intrigued to try it out, and now seeing a set here on ra i guess ill get around to it some time this year.

So happy this got a set. I also saw it played by Jared and as someone who is not really into Roguelikes, i really enjoy the concept of this game.

The monotypes runs cheevos only counts pokemon with a single type, or double type is fine as long everyone you catches has the same type?
Braek 25 Feb 2023 18:58
Double types are ok to use
Tele3000 25 Feb 2023 18:59
For the monotype run cheevos, double type is fine, if you get a ground/water Pokémon and a ground/rock Pokémon, monotype ground will still be active.
Also the monotype challenge doesn't car about what you catch or not, the relevant checks to see if you are still in pace for the monotype cheevos are made at the very beginning after the first occasion to trade your starter and then every time you enter a battle, thus mega evolution changing your type doesn't affect challenge nor the moves changing your type too, and catching a pokémon outside of your monotype current run is fine too if you don't enter another fight after, you can capture a normal/fairy in your ground monotype run then release the normal/fairy pokémon before doing any fight, it will not nullify your cheevos nor ingame challenge, you can even evolve it with rare candy, it doesn't matter.
MatheusBrazuca85 25 Feb 2023 20:29
Thanks you both

FINALY! I can stop playing this cursed game, I'm free!
Good luck to people who want to master this game, mostly for finding all the pokémons, it's not like a normal Pokémon game were you can just seek for a precise pokémon in a precise place, no almost everything is random with 898 pokémons, I never want to play this again now.

A very few things to help people around:
I'm playing the game in version 1.3.2.
- Zygarde is bugged, I searched for it more than one day with regional pokédex set on Kalos, I was running all around for legendaries only, and never found it, I gave up and found it a ton in the regional pokédex of Alola, the rom is bugged.
- Mr Rime is hell of confusing to get, if you have Mime Jr, you have to not learn Mimic, then make this stupid baby pokémon go through level 42 and then gain another level to get Mr Rime...
- Gauntlet mode is the best way to farm Pokémon you haven't found yet, just retire when there's no place to seek wild pokémons.
- If you have caught at least one single pokémon from a family, you can find the very first pokémon of that family in the safari zone, it's the easiest way for pokémons which you have caught at least one in the same family, you can then make them evolve with items and rare candies or go in gauntlet mode with them.
- Buy master balls in the hub, you will not regret it.
- Most challenges are WAY WAY WAY easier with regional Kanto mode set on, and choose wisely what generations of gym leaders you want (mostly for the Elite four and the first champion), never ever select more than one gym leaders generation or you will not be able to guess the next opponent (which is a huge advantage).
- Gyarados is over power, I used it with Moxie abilities, and the Mega Evolution Stone in case I need to change type and get more stats, with a variety of attack types and I litteraly nailed most of the game this way.
- See my previous post for monotype cheevos.
- Be patient and good luck, you'll need it...
