Mastery #325: Figuring out how to beat those stages without powerups was pretty interesting, but some of these stages felt a bit too short.

I hadn't experienced this before but having overclocking on in mesen or fce made it so little lady 1, 2, 5, and 6 wouldn't pop for me. Just a heads up for those who don't like slowdown.

That's my first mastery of a NES game, I see that a did a good choice starting with this amazing little hack.

Beginner tip: If you didn't win the 6 minutes achievement and just beat the game, don't reset yet: watch the credits and start again after that. You'll be in for a surprise!

Speedrunner tip: You can skip a stage if the card game appear on a tile. I discovered it by accident (I'm not much experienced in SMB3) when trying to rank up in the speedrun leaderboard. First time I saw it I thought I would lost time, but I got surprised when the stage cleared. I searched and saw that you need 80k points for it to appear. My strat: get 20k - 25k points jumping in the goombas that cames from the pipes without falling on the first stage, and play normally until I clear stage 4, reaching the 80k after that point everytime. That way, the card game always appeared on stage 3 (except for just one time that it goes to stage 2, I don't know why). Then I got a game over and start the speedrun count again, but with the card tile still there. You can see I skipping the stage in the video I posted in the full game leaderboards.

And talking about it, the most fun I had playing this was trying to beat TheClassicOne88 (x7) and WanderingHeiho (x1) records. They were very tough and took me many hours to develop strats and learn the stages, so congrats for them for the fast times!

For some reason I am no longer able to run NES games through RetroArch.
The error also happens through the RANes emulator, I have tried to download it again and I have not been successful :-(
Interestingly, the game works normally using a standalone emulator

Por algum motivo não estou conseguindo mais executar jogos do NES pelo RetroArch.
O Erro acontece tambem pelo emulador RANes, já tentei baixar novamente e não obtive sucesso :-(
Curiosamente o jogo funciona normalmente usando um emulador autonomo

Eu tbm usei o RetroArch na versão mais recente (1.15.0) com o core Mesen. Funcionou de boa aqui.

I spent ages searching level 3 for the level 4 1ups lol!
What a wonderful little hack this is. Really enjoyed it. The new powers were excellent too, awesome version of hammer power and frog suit!
Set design was just perfect, had to play through several times and really see and appreciate everything the game had to offer! Thank you Dev, brilliant job on this :)
