Most of the challenge achievements are pretty good. The Egg Fleet 90k points and special stages ones are kinda crazy given how the framerate feels and the broken special stage slope issue. Those would probably have higher completion rates if they were on GC.

Finally completed this game after one year it was just existing on my hard drive. I'm not touching the achievements for this game anymore, the emerald challenges are absolutely disgusting, and the fact that set creator haven't beaten his own set on hardcore really says a lot.

The only reason you would try the achievement for this version is high retro ratio only, because nobody is crazy enough to go through this experience. In any other case - stay away from this set.

Which version of this set is easier? This one or the GameCube one? I'm asking because I'm looking forward to it and I want to start with the easier one

I'm pretty sure the GC version is way easier. I was one of the 18 people that managed to master this and it was absolute hell. People complained about the emerald achievements but they were nothing compared to "Professionals on a Tight Limit" and "Points on Mass". I want to really emphasize how stupidly hard this mastery was compared to almost any other game I've played on this site. The only game that I've done that I would compare it to so far is smash bros melee (almost got it).

The GC version also runs a lot better and is a lot less buggy. I recommend never playing this version of the game 😂.

Points on Mass is what made me drop the set. GC version is way better. At least that one takes time bonus into account

From personal experience, I absolutely agree with Olafur and Colin that the GC version's set is far easier, and better, than this version's set. For me, it was Points on Mass, Professionals on a Time Limit and the red and cyan Chaos Emerald challenges that made me drop this set. The GC set is just far more forgiving and at times more fun in terms of its challenges, especially since they actually count the end of stage time bonus for score-related challenges, and the Chaos Emerald challenges are a million times more doable/fair to pull off. You just have to reach the Emerald in a set amount of time while maintaining a Level 3 speed level. I remember spending hours trying to clear the yellow Emerald's challenge for this set. Meanwhile it took me TWO ATTEMPTS to get the same emerald's achievement on the GC version (Technically three but the first attempt was just me trying to get the emerald in general). The GC set also reserved the score-based challenges for the normal special stages where it's more focused on getting a good score which frankly should've been done for THIS version's Special Stages in the first place. They're still janky to play but it honestly speaks volumes on how nasty this set was to do if I'm having an easier time with the GC version's Special Stages.

In short, and I can't stress this enough, unless you're REALLY looking for an insanely hard set to master, please just play the GC version's set. This version's set really isn't worth the trouble and stress at all.
