I read you hold r3 and tilt the stick but cant seem toget it to work

You tilt the stick directly down. After you unlock the yellow hat difficulty you're able to activate it. You wont get a black hat in-game, but an achievement icon will be triggered in a corner to let you know you are playing on the max difficulty

i find im getting cool mode just hitting the notes sometimes for the flawless achievements. do you have to purposely route avoiding cool mode or is there a way to disable it?

kinda wish the game still tracked your socre for the leaderboard even if you held down L1+L2 to skip both the level intro and boxy boy segment but oh well

Yes, this game is so much better than the other two in ps one. The hitbox works perfectly. In Parappa 1 and Um Jammer Lammy the hitbox sucks

So ninja mode is available in the regular achievements. If you hold R2+R1+L2+L1, it skips cutscenes and it skips the check for ninja mode. If you just press pause and restart, it'll count as no bonus. Not sure if this is a known bug
