I don't think Enter the Dragonfly is anywhere near the worst games i've ever played, which would be a game i would rate 1 or 2 out of 10. Still, i gave it a 4/10. Considering that in my personal scale 7 is solid and 6 is alright, a 4/10 isn't that bad.

If the game didn't try to constantly alt-F4 itself it'd just be an extremely boring 3D platformer with awful frame rates and empty levels. The problem is its constant attempts at suicide. My physical copy of this on GameCube had a glitch when I was a kid where Sparx got permanently stuck in Dragonfly Dojo upon loading into the level for the first time and nothing (that I could figure out) could remedy the situation aside from restarting and hoping it didn't happen again.

Here on PCSX2 I constantly experienced Spyro being thrown into GBJ because of random clipping (softlocking the game and forcing a reset), gems not spawning in properly (had totals that exceeded the gem count in both Dragonfly Dojo and the farm, couldn't get all of the gems in Cloud 9).

Obviously this is all anecdotal, but holy cow I've never had such a massive pain in the arse just trying to casually play a video game. Not even Sonic 06 is this broken (or as much of a slog) in a normal playthrough where you don't try to break the game.

Reading all this is crazy considering I had not a single problem the entire time I played through the game but that's just the way of EtD I suppose

Personally I've 100%d it three times over the past decade or so, twice on original hardware and once on emulator, and the only instance of me running into a major glitch unintentionally was triggering the swimming in air glitch

Man, I came into this expecting a pretty chill set, but some of these are gnarly. The time trials and slides were way harder for me then they should have been.

After several tries i eventually found the way to manipulate the camera to keep ripto off screen. It’s 100% doable. Once you figure out to keep it off him, you can run around the arena attacking and he won’t do any damage to you. 3rd phase is easy once you get the timing down

The time trials seem challenging but entirely fair. Great set (so far!).

Someone said the Banzai Speedway achievement is set below the world record a year ago; is it possible it just wasn't a particularly hard-fought contest? It took me four or five goes, but it isn't THAT tough. Sounds like the old WR just wasn't challenged much.

If anybody is still struggling with that one in particular: I did all the rings, the first six gliders, the first two rickshaws that come your way, all the lanterns, the last two gliders and then the last six rickshaws. It *should* all align perfectly that way.

Nice may I ask what time you got with that route as I've never seen it done that way? Also it used to be below the WR a year ago the achievement was a 1:18.00 instead of 1:19.50

My apologies, I didn't know it had been revised! That makes much more sense - must've looked such a knob in my last comment, so sorry. My best time with that is 1:18:58, so it wouldn't have been good enough at the time; with optimisation, I think the route works though.

i haven't got very far in yet but so far spyro 4 really isn't that bad. it isn't as good as the first 3 and yes it has framerate issues (seems to be solved by setting pcsx2's emulated overclocking to 180%) but it's nowhere near like. awful. there were worse games in that era that people still liked

You need 2:34 for rainbow speedway achievement. I keep getting 2:36. I think pcsx2 might be running a bit off on my pc?
I'm following the same route and techniques as a speedrun that got 2:32.5, and have had a smoother run than that run.
