Ngl, having task/level select makes this one of the easiest sets to get missables with I've ever seen. Just make a new file and use it. If more sets were like this with their missables that would be fantastic actually because that's frustrated me before as well.

Anyone else's game not keep a save? haven't had this issue with any other ps2 game but for some reason this one loses the save every time I close it. Not sure what's happening considering I'm getting confirmation both in-game and from the emulator that the save is going through, and loading it works if I haven't closed the game.

Well I imagine the achievements here are missable because they trigger on the tokens and programming the achievements to work without the tokens being there is cringe so it being missable is better especially since you can just do the All Tasks Cheat to try again so it really isn't a big deal.

Frankly Id barely consider these achievements missable considering the unlock all levels cheat is allowed. And you can always use speed up functions to skip load times. It's just marked as M to let you know from a programming side of things it needs the token to actually pop up.

I understand sets with too many missables can be a little obnoxious or daunting but in this instance it's mostly no damage bosses. So just don't beat the boss if you took damage and you won't miss them. And the dev was even courteous enough to allow the level select code on the missables. They're very reasonable.

For me as long as the set is organized in order of when you'd be able to unlock something I don't mind them. That alone makes them intuitive enough to not be too bothersome imo. It's just the nature of games that don't let you redo content. Plus they can be nice to show you some hidden moments in games you didn't know about before. Found out about a lot of missable cutscenes in final fantasy 6 because of missable achievements bringing them to my attention.

This was more difficult than I expected, but it was just right, it had good challenges and nothing impossible, but it requires knowledge of the game, happy to have mastered it.

Mastered! Main game was a slog compared to BfBB, but the dev time cheevos and boss challenges were really enjoyable.

Mastered! Never finished this game as a kid, let alone 100%'d it. Some of those treasure chests were torture to find and having to do 2 time trials and a ring challenge for every driving/sliding level was a slog. But out of all of it, the worst parts were beating the developer times and beating the bosses without getting hit. Especially the final boss without having any Macho-upgraded moves. If cheats didn't exist, I probably wouldn't go for it in all honestly. All-in-all, had an interesting time, but didn't enjoy it as much as BfBB.

Solid 9/10 nice and challenging everything covered I probably think it would’ve been better to make dev times their own seperate categories as they do require glitches/strats but not taking away from the dev here as they did request it. Had lots of fun with this set well done. I recommend players to look at the achievement for dev times as they usually provide information on how to beat it. King Neptune wasn’t that bad. Something which slightly annoyed me when I started was that I got the goofy goober token for air not good Patrick but the timer includes the animation for when Patrick picks up the token, make sure if you’re going to pick these up and there is a timer to give yourself 5-7 seconds in case worst comes to worse you can just teleport back with the all tasks cheat like the king Neptune challenge. Honestly seemed way more daunting when looking over the cheevos before actually starting it, it really wasn’t too bad. Final boss w/o taking damage and no macho moves I did on my second attempt, the only REAL struggle I had was the very last cheevo, getting the dev time on No Weenie Parking Anytime.
Other than that, extremely fun mastery, thanks for the great set!

This is one of the games of my childhood, unfortunately I see unlikely to bring out a remake of this game for new consoles, thanks for the achievements :)

Never beat this when I was younger. Now that I have gone back and beat it, I can say that this game is absolutely a mixed bag. Some stuff is done excellently, some stuff is completely obnoxious and just downright not fun.

GOOD: The platforming levels are great. The driving and slide levels are also pretty good but not as much fun as the platforming. I don't mind spongeball and floating block but they should be optional. The upgrade system is awesome and something I wish BfBB had. This game also seems to have a lot more of a "personality" than BfBB, which I do like. The difficulty starts ramping up near the end, which is a welcome change.

BAD: The level gating forces you to replay the driving and slide missions and those challenges (especially the ring ones) are just downright not fun. Replaying the same levels over and over because you missed one ring is repetitive, tedious and frustrating. Every single boss fight except the last one is way too easy. The cutscenes are laughably bad.

Definitely not on the same level as BfBB but still pretty enjoyable. It also should be noted that this game was heavily rushed in development, so it's not that surprising that it doesn't live up to BfBB. It's a good game that could've been great if it was given more time to cook.

A childhood game for me, and I love it.

The dev time challenges was really hard.

It was tough, and I quit trying to finish it on time. then I went back to it later and finished it.
Still a good game 👍🎮

The game that started it all, the first SpongeBob game I played and beat as a child; I remember how epic it was to play the game from my favorite movie of all time. This is the best and my favorite SpongeBob game of all time (imo, of course)
