I'm watching my friend Extraguy play this game now & he says that the arch achievement in the 6th stage (1st world/area) is impossible because there are a bunch over the goal line without any bumper underneath & it's impossible to get them all.

Also he's found out so far that stages with zippers that cause the arches to respawn make it unable to unlock the arch achievement for them.

1-6 is possible - I have done it. There are 6 sets of 8... for the first five, you have to get them while moving right in the air and land before the finish line. It isn't too hard, then you need to go up and do it again for another set of 8.

Hey guys! For the zipper levels, in order to get the maximum possible number of arches, you'll need to collect all of the arches on the main level, then the zipper, and then the main world again.

Some levels are an exception to this, since the after passing a certain point the zipper would be unreachable. For these, first collect all arches that are possible while still being able to return to the zipper. Hope that clears it up!

Also, on the level Spring Fever (5-4) it isn't possible to collect every single arch (there will be one left unreachable if you maximize your collected arches). This is taken into account for that particular achievement.

I'm not sure if my ROM is bugged or if the achievements are bugged, but I ended up getting the 99 arch achievement upon booting the game up for the first time and got The Big McCheese when I got a game over.

In case anyone else is wondering and doesn't feel like having to browse the achievement list, there is no "collect all arches" achievement for stage 4-4, Desert Cove. I must have ran it like four times before I was finally like, "Okay, I'm gonna look at the list and make sure.

And mastered! This set and game is a milestone for me as it is THE game that pushed me into the top 300! I found it amusingly fitting.

The game itself is fun! The controls are even better than Mario 3 and there's innovation in the game to distinguish it from the mario games. The arches cheevs were a pain for some of them as some levels were NEVER intended to have all of their arches collected. The lack of saving in the game forces you to complete the set in one sitting.
