This is one of the all-time worst arcade ports. Up there with Atari 2600 Pac-man. The bird controls like a freight train with wings. What were they thinking!? And it was programmed by Iwata! Unbelievable.

I'm reading that it was beloved game developer and former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata's first commercially published game. "He traveled to Kyoto himself to request permission to work on games for the NES, to which Nintendo obliged."

It's strange because everything else Iwata worked on was gold, even in his early days with HAL. Every other version of Joust is a joy to play.
