Minor notes about this set. 1) Perfect Run for this set means buster only, no damage. Rush is banned unless required for specific stages. 2) There are two patches linked, but it's recommended to use the instant health patch instead of the classic health patch for leaderboard purposes.

Just a heads up for anyone looking to master this - the achievement logic on the no damage runs is a little wonky. I've had the badge disappear multiple times when I've gotten close to an enemy's hit box but didn't take damage. All of them are attainable, but I have to do Wily 1 again because I think a frame-perfect dodge I did near the end of the stage caused it to disappear. (I'm honestly amazed I didn't take damage; it looked like I was in the explosion, but I thought I had my run until I got to the boss and it didn't pop.)

That makes a lot of sense - the run ahead causing failures, that is. Not that it will change how I play; I'm pretty sensitive to input lag on these old games, but it's nice to know that likely ties into how the achievements are coded. Probably reading an input that would lead to me taking damage even when I haven't taken a hit. I'm just kind of surprised the condition wouldn't be tied to the lifebar decreasing.

I spent my entire afternoon playing this game and I loved every minute of it. If you like the original MM3, this is an absolute must-play! It does a great job of expanding on certain gimmicks from the original game, and the Wily stages are deliciously challenging while still being fair. It also removes a lot of the lag from the original, which is always a plus. Knowing how tumultuous the development of MM3 was, this romhack provides an interesting look into what the game might’ve been like if the devs had more time to flesh out their level design. I have mixed feelings towards the original MM3, but this hack took the original game’s solid foundation and turned it into one of the best Mega Man experiences I’ve ever had.
