There is no an easy way for Amy and Shir to gain a lot of experience in this game. What I did was using Hugh's Vol/Savol in Noah. Sometimes the tech fails, but it won't be very noticeable with the emulator at high speed. Rolf should be dead to receive more exp. However, this method only speeds things up a bit, it is still time consuming

Nothing is listed, but are there any missables in the set? I see something about the Nei armor, which makes me wonder how much else (aside from boss challenges) is missable

Yes, anything involving Nei is missable, as she dies halfway through. Beating Neifirst without Rolf's techs is also missable. I assume Masonic Towers is missable if you don't have all 4 in your inventory simultaneously. The Eyes Missed It is missable, don't die. Collecting the Nei Gear in a single session is missable. Defeating Dark Force without using Megid isn't really missable because it's the end of the game, and you can just load your save and fight him again. Same with the special ways to beat mother brain.

Bit late, but yes, defeating Dark Force without using Megid *is* missable, because it's reasonable and likely that the player will exit the dungeon, heal and save, after beating him, rather than charging to the end with depleted resources.

Mastered! Very solid game, though I would love to have stern words with whoever designed the dungeons. Achievements were good -- I liked how the item ones accounted for your progress in the dams, if that makes sense.

Getting Amy's last ability isn't nearly as bad as some say: put Rolf and Amy in the party, all with whatever best gear they can equip (purely defensive for Amy), but give Amy the Storm Gloves to attack with; then go to the dungeon near Aukba and grind on the first floor with fast forward, hoping to get as many mages as you can.

Not sure if it has something to do with the transfer of achievements but I did the Missable Achievement for the Nei Items in Ikuto and the progression achievement didn't trigger.

What may have happened was you were playing when the revision went live so the emulator didn't have the achievements to unlock. You can use the missables to request a manual unlock for the progression ones you should get.

Beat PSII tonight for the first time. Realized hardcore mode was off the whole time. Never used save states. I hate myself.

Rules....

1) Use the turbo setting to your advantage and overlevel before moving forwards
2) Find a spot that is level appropriate to use turbo mode to overlevel the imperative thing is everyone has directions set so you can move left and right to trigger the battle then just mash fight
3) Once you defeat Neifirst Amy must remain in your party at all times
4) Shir should be in your party until Dezo then swap her out only when you are done buying the best/Laconian gear for all 7 members and thus no longer need to visit a shop
5) Amy uses Snow Crown and Shir uses Storm Gear then use turbo battle for the real grind
6) Once upon Dezo cycle through Anna/Hugh/Kain until you unlock the final technique achievements (Sorry Rudo)
6) Once Anna/Hugh/Kain have unlocked their final technique achievements then you may bring Rudo in (he is useful against endgame)
7) Once Shir unlocks her technique achievement you may bring Kain in (he will be useful against Mother Brain since she is a machine)

I found the Menobe entrance to be the greatest area to farm exp per hour as nothing could inflict poison, it was super close to a town and I could get ~250k exp before casting NaRes the first time. Also when Amy runs out of TP just go back to town and heal as GiRes is far too annoying to use during the grind.

OH MY GOD IT'S DONE

I watched like 4 MST3K episodes in the time it took to grind everyone to their final techniques. Menobe 1 was a good place to grind when it was a large group of characters who needed to level up (front two members use Gires equipment items, back two use Storm Gear). Once it was down to just Amy, the fastest method for me was to go back to Motavia and go back and forth with Rolf attacking and Amy using Storm Gear, and then using Gires equipment items in battle to pump them back to full health.

My party for the final bosses was Anna, Shir, Rolf, and Kain. Shir and Rolf were level 40, the others were just high enough to learn their final techniques. I prioritized giving everyone shields instead of weapons since Storm Gear did most of the work and spells are just flat damage with slight variance.

DARK FORCE

Anna: Open with Snow Crown, use Star Mist as necessary. Otherwise just twiddle thumbs.

Shir: Nazan until out of TP, then Storm Gear.

Rolf: Nafoi until out of TP, then Attack.

Kain: Nagaj until out of TP, then Storm Gear.

I only had to use 2 Star Mists, but I think I got really lucky, because Dark Force only attacked 2 times. It continually tried to mind control everyone and the Neisword kept banishing the mind control before everyone was controlled.

So if your fight is lousy, just try again and it might go swell.

MOTHER BRAIN

Even easier.

1. Open with Snow Crown.

2. Nazan / Nafoi / Nagaj / Attack / Storm Gear until a character is below 70 HP.

3. Everyone uses Gires equipment items until back to full health.

4. Repeat until dead.

Side Note: I had mysterious issues using Genesis Plus GX. If the missable Neifirst cheevo doesn't pop, just use EmuHawk and drag your save file over to there.
