I can't seem to get The Symbologist or The Eye of Truth to trigger (I took Ashlay, so this is after the first visit to Parj temple and the Wolf form boss things.)

I'm having issues with some as well. I did 2 of them PAs which give achievements but neither of them unlocked. One was the first PA with Iris in the past and the other was to give a present in hot. Did both and neither unlocked.

Both PAs should work fine now. Same goes for the Eye of Truth and the Symbologist

well I went for it, mastered it. Thank goodness, it was fun while it lasted but DAMN was it annoying at times... like those Medusa Eye enemies, such a pain.

Just got to the bit where you sneak back to the ship after being told they won't try to help roak. Then got level 10 and level 20 achievements.

A few years ago i fixed an issue that caused these achievement to trigger if a high level npc join your party. Now they are supposed to trigger for main characters only

Tip: Keep a backup save with fewer than 8 members in your party. I didn't realize you max out at 8 and couldn't recruit the last 2 I needed. I had to go back to an older save and replay a bit to get the others.

The thing is...there's only 4 optional characters you can recruit per playthrough, so that's at least 1 or 2 replays if you play your cards right (or wrong)

Been years since i played the 1st star ocean but if i remember correctly you can finish the set in 1 playthrough if you plan your party [i don't remember the requirements for each character]. Just recruit some early characters that are not required for another recruit and reload your save to continue without them

Looks like a second playthrough is in order for me, Ashlay can only be recruited if you DIDN'T recruit Cius, and by the time i realized it was too late to do anything about it.
