I'm still depressed that every fighting game has a 1 credit run achievement. I take two hours trying to beat a level because I can't figure out a strategy to cheese difficult fights. Makes me irritated, man. What do I gotta do to learn better

I finally beat Rugal after the whole day haha, I will try the 1CC run sometime. I see how it's considered a plausable/doable thing as a lot of people can pull it off far easier than me, I'm just really rough but I love fighters anyway heh. Thanks JP

For 1CCs Brazil Team is a good choice, you can cheese Rugal's second phase by doing Moon Slasher (hold down, then up + P) with Heidern close to Rugal, but not close enough to hit. He tries to do two step dodges in a row against that for some reason, which gives you time to walk up to him and throw.

Another easy phase 2 cheese is dealing some damage, then when you have more life than him block something (a reppuken or a kaiser wave for example) and then quickly alternate between back and down back for the rest of the match. If you do it correctly you should be stuck in the blocking frame, and the AI doesn't know what to do against that, Rugal just stays there watching until time runs out.

In general the game is about cheese like this, if you try to fight head on you will lose. Since the AI is coded mostly to react instantly to stuff you do, try different things to get consistent reactions from the CPU and have a counter for their response. Then the game goes from impossible to doable to 1CC.

Also I've noticed that Rugal's second phase is pretty weak against crouching C. If you keep doing it close to him, but not enough to hit, he will step dodge or try to dash in and grab you, and will get hit a lot by your punches. If you have a character with a good crouch C, that's a pretty solid strat.
