Protip: barrels are more likely to roll down a ladder if the joystick is pointed towards them, with the odds increasing on each difficulty. At Level 4, this gives a 75% chance.

You can't use any of the MAME cores in RetroArch, none of the achievements are supported. You have to use the FinalBurn Neo core, which speeds the game up faster than the arcade, FYI

If you don't get certain sound effects, you need to be sure that you have the fbneo/samples/dkong.zip file in your system folder for RetroArch or RALibretro

Mastered! I've always wanted to be good at this game; something about it was incredibly appealing especially as a relic of a bygone era. I had NO IDEA how much I would have to manipulate both the programming and the RNG to increase my chances of success despite not having a bottomless pocket of quarters at my disposal. Hoping to hit the leaderboard at MAGFest 2023 and beyond!

Shroome's statement is no longer true. If you are stuck using FinalBurn Neo (like I was), the game's speed will be the same as the original Arcade version... Or at least the speed is the same as the Arcade Archives Switch port.

Perfect set! I loved playing through the arcade version after collecting all RA home ports. Thank you for this one. Brilliant game which I have really come to love since getting on RA!

Four barrels - you do not need to survive the jump, just get the points issued for jumping four, which can happen even if you die from it on the last barrel - can't imagine getting that and surviving it lol

Sheesh. Have had to take quite a few breaks from this set so far 😅 I see there's quite a few hacks and such too....welp. Gonna check out some of the ports for now 😂

Been wanting to play this but the SFX are not correct. I know the comment above from soopercool101 explains it but I believe I've done it correctly and I still have the same issue. Some sound effects just don't exist
