I think the easiest way is to be in 1st place without any opponents near you, then intentionally crash into something slightly before the finish line and then run the remaining meters to cross the finish line

For anybody wondering how to qualify Level 5 easily, I can tell you.
The last kilometers are the most important, as people say, and it's true.
You can be in 8th place at all times until you reach around 125-130 km on your Odometer. Once that happens spend all your Nitro to get to first place, not caring about anything, just try your best to get to first. You'll notice it's really easy to get to first place if you try to do this method, and you don't even have to contest your first place at all, since you'll be at the finish line already! As for getting to 125 km, just drive carefully. Assuming you have the Diablo N, you can drive at 140-100 km/h with no problem, and stay in an acceptable position (Like 8th or even 10th) to conserve Bike Health.

This is one of those games where overclocking the cpu in core options can really help smooth it out.

Also, it seems that turning the music off in options can interfere with some cheevs. Best to leave it on.

I remember mastering all three Genesis ports of Road Rash with music turned off. I can't stand the BGM there and I passed some DnB to my receiver, but left SFX on my PC speakers to hear the cops.
